Is that to say the hard right is cool with ending the War on Drugs if we just agree to stop the unethical street dealers and their suppliers and just stock the smack at Wal*Mart with the rest of the guns n' ammo? To Elaborate: There are 3.64 times as many gun stores (51,438) than there are McDonalds (14,098) in the United States. All most people are asking for is a little societal responsibility; there's no reason to ice-block it to the wall like a government takeover of citizen's right to arms. The modern conservative base is just addicted to playing the victim. They're always under a blatant all-or-nothing attack toward everything they love; even their religion is under unrelenting siege despite being the overwhelming majority in a country where you're free to worship whatever you want. Long story short - the current hard left pressure on gun control is overstepping it to a rather impressive degree for a political party with a reputation for having absolutely no spine, and it wouldn't be very hard to show the flaws in their arguments and find a damn good compromise agreeable to the majority of the nation if people didn't immediately resort to making stupid fucking arguments like the above image.

Oh, sure, now that it's a metaphor that they think strengthens their side of the gun debate, this is what the conservatives have to say. Let's stand back and put this in perspective by taking a look at the general conservative platform: On Guns: Making drugs illegal doesn't get them off the street, so why ban any guns? On Drugs: Making drugs illegal might not get them off the street entirely, but anything we can do to protect the children must be done. Again, I feel the need to put the disclaimer, "I'm not an anti-gun nut" on this post - but still, take your double standard and shove it. Shove it hard. - Comment on Obama lied about taking away guns (2013-02-11 21:17:49)
Why would you even put a Tea Party tag on the image? It's like one giant "Disregard whatever this is on" sticker. Vermin Supreme isn't even as big of a political joke as these people. - Comment on Why we need high capacity weapons (2013-02-11 00:27:39)
I love the arrogance in assuming that the highly trained ex-serviceman will meet his match from a second-amendment-loving citizen off the street. I'm not for getting rid of guns, but even if you're packing high capacity magazines in a tactical assault weapon, at best this guy's still going to use you as an ammo refill. Maybe if you put together one of those well-regulated militias everyone overlooks from that amendment, you'd stand a pretty good chance before you were taken in for vigilantism. - Comment on Who was phone (2013-02-07 12:25:08)

Close! This one's Kato... after a lot of hair bleach, standards-lowering, and quite possibly a little cosmetic surgery. - Comment on Presidential drones (2013-01-30 10:20:14)
Nobody here reads The Onion? Taking sensational news topics and taking them to an extreme in order to make fun of other ridiculous news topics often leads in them making drone jokes about Obama. http://www.theonion.com/articles/obama-takes-out-romney-with-middebate-drone-attack,30055/ - Comment on good puppy pulling on bikini top (2013-01-24 01:11:21)

Always hated the "less viruses!" talking point for Macs. No one viruses a Mac because there's no prestige in it. A prevalent Windows virus can interrupt businesses and infiltrate governments. What's lost in a prevalent Mac plague? Images of college parties and half-written coming-of-age novels? OH, NO, AUNTIE JANE CAN'T PLAY HER ANGRY BIRDS. YOU HOOLIGANS. - Comment on Carville on republicans (2013-01-19 07:38:45)
If those are serious requests for clarification? Smaller government means less oversight and regulation, less oversight and regulation means that it's easier to embezzle, skim, and otherwise steal millions of dollars from what should be tax contributions, from your own employees, from benefits and breaks... Where the hell do you think most of the liquid capital goes? Look at the round of bail-outs that happened early in Obama's presidency; follow the money. I'm flabbergasted that there was such little oversight of it - man had too much faith in his own people. Can see it fading every time he has to make one of them post-tragedy speeches. You have any idea how much money we could be saving even now if we just checked in every now and again on where the hell it was going - especially with shit like health/medicare/insurance? - Comment on Satanic toast (2013-01-18 18:47:13)
I love how she gently nudges it towards the interviewer, clearly aware that it's about to shoot fire. I'd like to believe we're slightly less gullible a few decades later, but we're so so so not. - Comment on Skull (2013-01-18 03:56:14)
