I actually find it to be rather unfortunate that this interpretation as a hand gesture prevents me from resting my head on my hand in that manner. The middle finger, being the longest, and the ring and index fingers, being the next strongest, make a pretty good tripod for the ol' dome. Isn't really a good second option aside from just smooshing your cheek into all four uniform fingers like a goober. - Comment on Conspiratorial mumbo jumbo? (2013-04-16 16:02:27)
I know people need to find their own ways to work through and make sense of tragedies, but come on, man. There's enough stupid in this world. This was a high-profile attack during a unique and specific event by someone who wasn't even willing to go down with the ship like most of the zealots who commit these acts. They were even more of a selfish coward than we're used to seeing and, no matter how you slice it, were not manifesting the almighty's intent. Are there really people out there who kneel before an assumed deity that reacts to equal civil rights by blowing up children and performers of charity? - Comment on New punctuation (2013-04-05 15:08:19)
Oh, holy shit, that Morgan Freemark works. We need to get these integrated into a unicode font, STAT. - Comment on Lucas is Dr. Eggman (2013-04-03 19:41:05)

I love when people make such great examples of the concept that just because you can't afford nice things doesn't mean you can't have awesome things. - Comment on glorious PC gaming master race (2013-02-26 03:42:54)
It's a frame from Zero Punctuation ... in which the author is commenting on the attitudes of said PC gamers. You're attacking the image of an ironic point made by someone who shares your point of view. Also, I had staunch console favoritism for a very long time - but the golden age is over. This will be the last generation of consoles that is taken seriously and, after, the only reason to own a console will be to keep kids from fucking up your PC. - Comment on chloe moretz has your ticket (2013-02-24 21:20:07)
How much did he have in stock? I hear only one is just a misdemeanor. - Comment on cat door (2013-02-23 01:47:46)
Assuming the person who told me that cats' whiskers help them decide what they can fit thought wasn't full of shit, that does explain the look of confusion on its face. - Comment on kill rank (2013-02-19 07:15:11)
Now that you mention it, they're color coded to browsers pretty well... Actually, no. Still just no. - Comment on kill rank (2013-02-18 23:19:06)
So, yay free speech, and whatnot... But, really? I'm picturing Tiki just blind, nonverbal drunk sitting in front of his computer with the battle of Jack, like, "EH HEH THIS'LL GET'UM UNGRATEFUCK BISHES CLACKIN LINKS." Comedy about atrocities only works if it's witty, and even then just barely. That's the genius, when it works. This? I don't even have anything to say about it. Just, no. - Comment on Hot Dickings (2013-02-17 22:47:11)

Don't you people (who use terms like "0vimit" and refer to groups who support anything you dislike as "The Liberals / Conservatives" regardless of connection to their platform) feel any shame for being successfully trolled by divisive party tactics to polarize your loyalties? Same type of fuckers who referred to Bush as a "fascist" and Obama as a "socialist" as if they were meant to be any more than affect-shifting buzzwords. Am I the only one that sees this type of behavior as a giant "I'm With Stupid" arrow that points upwards? Before I use a label I at least try to remember to make sure it respects the office of my nation and represents the platform I'm attempting to refer to. - Comment on minty hot dog (2013-02-15 21:48:58)
"Are you trying to tell me you're pregnant?" - Comment on the honest truth about guns (2013-02-14 20:58:37)
Seemingly contrary to some of the points I've been making in the other million posts about this topic, I don't really have a problem with this logic (silly comparisons to countries with different cultures and using likely-massaged numbers aside). If we want "gun-ly nation," then we're willing to accept the risks that come with that status. Maybe that risk drops safety from 99.9% to 99.0% - maybe that risk means a higher rate of firearms use factored into crime statistics. It's our decision to make, whichever way we go with it so long as we accept those possibilities - and frankly, I'm fine with them. Sure, the 96% of the guns that were obtained illegally were much easier to illegally obtain due to the prevalence of liberally regulated legal gun markets in the first place, but again, that's what comes with the territory. Don't want another Sandy Hook? Don't encourage your mentally problematic and undertreated kid to take your assault weapons to the range and leave them freely available in the home. Why does America glorify gun violence? Because in a bunch of the problems we've faced over the years, gun violence worked out pretty awesome. Revolution, defense, expansion, Rambo, World War II, countries that second guess invading American soil because pretty much everyone is one good reason away from being a modern minuteman... Responsibility should just come with the territory - and before anybody thinks I'm being inconsistent here, some of that responsibility includes some fucking background checks and psychological / competence testing on occasion.
