Yeah, the largest ones take about 5km to get up to speed and guess what? they take about 5km to slow down as well :P a number of vehicles get squashed by them each year unfortunately, nothing the driver can really do!

Well...i would like to point something out to all you folks out there bashing the war and demanding that all troops be pulled out. There are a lot of troops (people i know) whom, whilst not enjoying the war of course, don't want to be pulled out. Most of them want to see this through, thats their job, this is the sort of thing they signed up for and most of them accept that. From an Aussie point of view, there are a lot of people wanting to go and do their part regardless of what they have seen and what they know (I think the navy has one BIG ass queue of people wanting to go is what i've been told). Perhaps thats saying something, perhaps we should take more of a lead from the troops who have been there and seen the effect they have before we all go and write notes to the government demanding they be brought home whilst sitting in our comfy arm chairs...

Was trying to get into the Air Force about a month back... well we were staying with the other course also trying to get in and one of the chicks brought this movie with her...so here is a group of 15 potential pilots (The biggest grouping of egos you can imagine in a single room!!) watching this damned movie for about an hour and a half... about an hour through we stopped and someone exclaimed "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS MOVIE ABOUT?!" "is it about anything at all?" she gave us a quick explanation which was vague and shitty but kept us quiet for another 30mins.. at which point one guy exlaims loudly again "THIS IS FUCKED!!" which was quickly followed by everyone doing the same thing, laughing our asses off and putting Platoon on instead!! Needless to say Platoon is also somewhat fucked up, but at least people got shot and shit got blown up!! lol
