Actually, the books were pretty good. The recommendation I got was "they're better than Twilight". I almost dismissed them because, frankly, that's about on par with saying "they're better than a sledge hammer to the balls". No, the writing is not masterful. But it's still a good story. Surprisingly brutal and grim for a book series targeted at young adults.

Well, as I've said before, the crash was in full swing when he came into office. He did the best anyone could do: Damage control. Could anyone have done better? Maybe. But I seriously doubt anyone could have turned the crash around by now. There are way too many outside factors involved. Besides, Congress has more power to "fix" the recession than the president himself does.
