I won't flame or make comments on sexual preference (god knows Scott Weiland likes to walk the edge). I will say that you should do some googling for Scott's rendition of Christmas Time is here, or Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. I think it shows some incredible vocals and performing skills. His solo albums are spectacular as well.

Agreed HoChunk. One of the best bands of all time. If you ever get a chance to see them in concert, do so. They're spectacular and you get a real feel for their talent live.

Damn you HoChunk, I submitted this last week and thought it was hilarious. You've beaten me to the punch... well done
  • Comment on Windows Seven - Energize Your World (2009-05-26 14:07:54)
I've been running Windows 7 for months now, and recently switched to the new RC. It's been rock solid for me, and actually quite peppy. As far as functionality, I'd say you don't gain much over XP, although having all the drivers included is definitely a time-saver. Still a couple bugs to work out, but it runs quickly, boots quickly, and shuts down quickly. Those are what I look for in an OS. As for Ubuntu, I was in the same boat a year or two ago - tired of futzing with it to get simple things to work. But I recently re-tried it, and love it. I dual boot, and run an Ubuntu box at home. I quickly learned that it's actually EASIER to use in some respects than Windows. You have easy access to a TON of programs using the Add Programs menu, vs. going to individual sites for a Windows app. In Ubuntu all I do is type in what feature I want, and it installs it for me. Torrent software? - done. PDF printer? - done. Need Ubuntu to be your DHCP server? - done. Try doing any of those things in Windows without going to a bunch of 3rd party sites and trying app after app.

Welcome to Portland Jon! I've often wondered how many Portland users are on MyConfined space. We're a pretty intelligent bunch...

And yes I realize I spelled "reservoir" incorrectly, I saw it just after I hit submit :-(

Holy crap, I just noticed the "Pulling and squeezing your knob" line. Wow. That's bold. Altered Beast rules!

In fact, the scooter IS turned off, which is why the gas tank seems empty. @Stardreamer72 In point of fact, I DID stick a wristwatch on my dash. Many scooters don't have clocks, so I found a $10 watch that matched my scooter fairly well, and stuck it on with exterior mounting tape. Cheap workaround=WIN :-)

The small print that makes the lower line of the "L" actually says "date". As if I wouldn't know what that part of my watch said....oh wait...
  • Comment on is it ok to unconditionally meet with anti-american foreign leaders? (2008-06-10 22:39:21)
"absolutely hell bent on destroying you and your country" That's a little much, don't you think? If they wanted to attack us, why haven't they? They supposedly have Nukes, so nuke us already! Instead, WE'RE the ones invading, and making what they see as aggressive moves to wipe their culture and religion off the map. Iran's President is a crazy guy, agreed. But did it ever occur to you that all the "kill America" shit is just stuff he says to get elected and supported by his own "right wing"? Maybe it's their version of "lower taxes, no abortions, pro-small business" and all the other bullshit OUR politicians say. They probably look at our rhetoric as crazy too. But saying stupid things and being a general jackass does NOT mean they're "hell bent on destroying" our country. If it did, then George W has threatened every country on earth...

I was hoping someone would mention those ads, they're driving me nuts. "TALK, with the ENEMY? That's Madness" The whole idea of the ad is ridiculous, as are fear-mongers. Yes, they probably ARE anti-American. So? The best way to move forward is to talk with them, and communicate about what the issues are. Refusing to talk to them and labeling them evil is no way to improve things. I like McCain, but I like Obama more. Either way, we have a long way to go in this country to learn respect for the rest of the world.

@gor - I think the creepy guy in the back is the actual super-villain being born... Note the anger and frustration on his face as he watches women he can never have. But he'll make them pay, oh yes, vengeance SHALL be his...

For what it's worth, "Signs" was actually pretty good in my opinion. I love Mel though, so I may be biased, but it was highly underrated in my book...
