They tried to put Rove on trial. They failed. They failed because he didn't do anything they could convict him for; they had to settle for tripping up Libby long enough to get him on perjury. Sooner or later, some of you are going to have to come to grips with the fact that someone having political opinions in direct opposition to yours isn't actually a fucking CRIME.

    A terrible, terrible movie.

Because, of course, an "idiot parent" is any parent who disagrees with you. Misspelled posts on MyConfinedSpace: Preventing your ugly babies from playing with toy grenades and empty cap guns since 2008.
  • Comment on Natural Born Killers Movie Poster (2008-11-12 17:03:50)
This movie is utter crap. I watched it not that long ago, in fact, having never gotten all the way through it. From the frenetic, pointless, I'm-not-as-cool-as-I-think-I-am editing, to the not-subtle symbolism, to the the crude and obvious media-is-evil-nobody-understands-me message, this movie is absurd, loud, and annoying... and little else.

Ha ha. Yeah, nothing says funny like political assassination.
  • Comment on We Will defeat the cylons! So say we all! (2008-05-28 08:59:54)
I have to admit that my attention really flagged this season, after the previous season in which approximately 60 percent of the regular cast was outed as being Cylons without their knowledge. I mean, this is getting ridiculous. Boomer, okay, that worked. But the Chief, and the XO, and that dude who was dating Starbuck for a while but was really boring? And six or seven guys in the hallway? And the janitor? And Xena? And guy from Quantum Leap? And... I mean, for crying out loud. I'd love for the cast to just stop in the middle of whatever they're doing, lookt at each other, and be like, "Uh... Show of hands. Anybody here /not/ a Cylon?"

There is a Mystery Science Theater 3000 version as well.

"FORWARD! On to the beach! Past the legions of the finned enemy, and into the arms of eternity! FORWARD, I SAY!"
  • Comment on .357 Magnum and .38 Special (2008-05-21 07:55:05)
Actually that .357 only holds 5 rounds, which is fairly typical of snubby revolvers.
  • Comment on Family of Ducks (2008-05-20 14:10:49)
    Ducks rock.
  • Comment on .357 Magnum and .38 Special (2008-05-20 13:37:23)
Specifically, ".357" refers more accurately to the true diameter of the .38 Special. The longer cartridge length makes it quite impossible to shoot a .357 in a .38-caliber revolver (though you can, of course, shoot .38s in a .357). The term "Magnum" comes from a magnum of champagne.
  • Comment on .357 Magnum and .38 Special (2008-05-20 13:00:51)
That's why I thought it was neat. The mighty .357 Magnum cartridge really isn't all that different than the .38 Special. The silver, .357 rounds are on the left, while the brass, .38 rounds are on the right. The two cartridges at the bottom, centered in the frame, are .357 on top and .38 on the bottom.
