I liked it, too. Some movies try to hard to be trippy and mend bending, and fail hard. (See also - Donny Darko). This one I think did it's job well. Of course, I heard a lot of "meh" about it, so going in I didn't expect much. I'm also starting to have this argument over The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, though for some reason only my female friends as of yet dislike that film. I thought it was amazing.

The guy on the right looks like Glenn Beck.

Bitches don't know about my proportional democracy.
  • Comment on dominos pizza order status screen (2010-01-17 04:19:48)
I did Domino's my senior year of high school. I also call bullshit on this system. There's no way a ghetto ass place like Domino's would actually have people entering into a computer during each "phase." Make the pizza, get it out, grab the addresses that tip well before your asshole coworkers try and grab them first. Good money for high school though, and I loved having free pizza all the time. "Quality check" is also hilarious. Is it in the box? Then it's been quality checked.

I agree. I'm an atheist, but there probably was a Jesus at some point, and I bet he was a pretty laid back & groovy guy, in the Nelson Mandela or Gandhi way. Just sucks that more people have been killed, oppressed, and enslaved in his name than anyone else's.

Jezebel is part of a family of sites that I visit daily (Kotaku - io9 - Gawker), but Jezebel is crazy, as are all their commentators. I'm about as tolerant and open minded as they come, and those bitches are crazy.

Every movie has plot holes, some are just so small that you don't realize it 'til much later. Like Zombieland. Every place they went to had power. How is that possible? Were the zombies working at the power plants and keeping the fine infrastructure in order? How about Star Wars - Return of the Jedi? Sure, the killed the Emperor & Darth Vader plus another Death Star, but does that mean all the generals and other imperial leaders just turn over their troops and the lands they control? Hells no. I mean, they already survived one Death Star going down without so much as a blip on the radar. If anything, all the generals created their own territories and fought bitterly with their remaining troops. Or take the Matrix - The first movie explained how you don't pull adults out of the matrix, because it makes them crazy. So, how happy could the people be in the last film where their choices are to "pull out" and go crazy, or remain in the matrix where they know everything is fake, and would probably complain about doing anything, because really, the computer overlords could just will everything into existence. I could do this for days. Every movie has plot holes. Some just bigger than others.

I liked it better when it was Star Wars script scratched out with Harry Potter, or even the derivative Star Wars script scratched out with Eragorn. Even this joke is a rip-off. Ironic?

Warren Ellis. Be ware his wrath.
  • Comment on Harley Quinn & The Joker (2010-01-08 06:45:23)
Adding Harley Quinn is about as 'realistic' as adding Robin to the Nolanverse. Now I'm going to go punch myself for saying Nolanverse.

This woman's sexiness is 70% personality, 20% a good make-up crew, and 10% genetics. I'm not saying she's not hot, but she is kind of normal looking. If I didn't know who she was in a crowd, she wouldn't be my first choice.

The positive existential proclamation bears the burden of proof. This is why a prosecutor must prove a crime was committed and then who committed the crime. The logical default for the positive premise that a crime has been committed is not "yes" or even "maybe" but "no." If I loudly proclaim that I have an invisible dragon in my garage, the logical default for the proposition, barring evidence, is "no." So provide two reputable, primary sources. (Bonus points to anyone with the motivator). ;)

There's some kind of reverse image search that lets you upload images and find websites that have that image. I think it's called EyeTrick or something. (Tried. Not EyeTrick. Someone muss now what I'm talking about).
  • Comment on deadpool with bucky (2010-01-05 04:00:29)
That was a great issue. I loved how angry Bucky was. Ironically, it fit in perfectly with Bucky's personality when he came back. (One of the better resurrections in comics. Up there with Whedon bringing Colossus back).
  • Comment on fast food - calories per dollar (2010-01-04 08:51:32)
People still think it's weird I don't like french fries, even when I was a little kid. Love potatoes in every variety but that one. I think it's the salt & sugar. On another note, this is why America is A Numero Uno when it comes to obesity rates. A Hamburger, Fries, & Soda together are more than most people's entire caloric needs. That's just one meal. It's not like people just have that and stop. Seriously, the correlation between the # of fast food joints in the U.S. & obesity rates is almost 1:1, yet people still claim "it's genetics!" Right, because all the genetically obese people in the world grabbed ships and came to the U.S. Sorry for the rant, but I dislike the fat victim mentality, and fast food is what causes it most of the time.
