grooooooooosssss. Real men don't drink crap like that. IMO, there are 4 real alcoholic beverages one should ever be caught drinking: Beer (more specifically, REAL beer, not macro American light lagers) Red Wine Scotch (or Bourbon) Gin (in the form of a dry martini or a Gin and Tonic)

Yeah, it's really an illustration of how broken our food system is in the US. Some of those other nations, with all the fresh bread and vegetables, it would cost twice as much in the US. But our processed corn products and cheap meats are all subsidized, so that's what Americans eat. And you wonder why we have an obesity epidemic. We need to stop subsidizing corn and start incentivizing the American consumer to start purchasing more real food. - Comment on Majora's Mask Skull Kid (2010-02-06 00:57:58)

This isn't that funny. - Comment on World`s Tallest Building - Dubai (2010-01-08 10:23:24)
Dubai is going to be a fascinating thing to watch over the coming decades. 15 years ago it was nothing but desert, a blip on the radar. In 50 years, I bet it will be the same. This is hubris and triumphalism at its worst. Once oil starts to dwindle, and energy becomes scarce, how are they going to desalinate all the water needed for that desert town. And run their indoor ski resort. And keep the manmade floating islands from crumbling back into the sea. It's laughable if it weren't so tragic. - Comment on Yall niggas niggering in a nigga nigga (2010-01-07 20:16:55)

Nasty nasty stuff. Plus, if you like a little lime in your beer, then just put a lime wedge in your beer! - Comment on You really have no place in this conversation (2009-12-29 13:50:23)
bingo. People always think I'm some PETA nut when they find out I choose not to eat meat. It's annoying. PETA does nothing but alienate people - Comment on Frédéric Chopin (2009-12-28 12:58:14)
As far as piano goes, Chopin is likely my favorite. I'm actually in the process of rediscovering his works as we speak, I'm working on a few his of Preludes and Nocturnes right now. Amazing stuff. Orchestrally however, I'm very in to Shostakovitch and Stravinsky...but that's a whole other realm. Then on occasion, I'll go back and listen to some good old Beethoven. Pure pissed off, arrogant dick-swinging....yet it's so perfect sometimes... - Comment on When I grow up... I want to be like mommy! (2009-12-23 11:21:05)

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this was likely all tongue and cheek. You can just tell they're having a laugh about this. - Comment on A River of Effluvium (2009-12-21 12:13:50)
You do realize that if you buy anything made in China, than you are contributing to that waste. Inexpensive products are inexpensive because they are made in countries with no environmental regulations. Say you buy a gadget made in China for $20, and for each gadget, 5 gallons of toxic waste is dumped into the river. The American counterpart of that product costs $40, because it costs the manufacturer $20 to dispose of the waste in an environmentally sound manner. The true cost of the product is $40, either you pay that amount, or the river in China makes up the difference.
