Funny fact: Morphologically, small dogs are small not because of their ancestors being bred to grow less-most breeds are smaller because they keep fetal features and are born with them, meaning that some features of them are bred to not fully develop. Well, the guy to name them simply thought they looked like creatures from a halluciantion, whops, new name. For more bizarre biological names, search for the Drosophila cheapdate- and hangover-mutant and the genes Nudel (Noodle), Gurken (cucumber) and Spätzle (spaetzle), also in Drosophila. Science is fun.

It is just annoying when your academic uses this in a presentation while talking about the metabolism of ten thousand bacterias. It ins not appropriate and somehow manages to disturb and piss you off at the same time. Many people, especially academics, seem to think that this font makes the things they try to convey more easy and somehow funny, and these are always the people who then bore you to death with their liveless, awful lectures. This font is a sure sign for an awful presentation. I hate comic sans. Yes, there are cases where it is nice and appropriate, but the wrong people use it so often that many people are conditioned to hate it.

Germany is not flooded with Israelis. Where did you get this information from? Most immigrants have a Turkish, Italian or Polish background. I still don`t really know what to make of this "uncanny valley" concept. Has anyone of you an example of a movie etc. containing an uncanny- vallyesque something? Movie is great, go and watch it. It was cute how they tried to invent new physiological concepts, but I have to say that the Na`vi, their pysiology, and their facial expressions were much too anthropomorphic for me (I know it`s necessary, but meh). But- cute- flying- shiny- reptiles.
