read...translate into something that can be used...same thing. But yeah, there's old pong clones and text based adventures that are currently hidden behind a language & technology barrier. Another one I can think of that is only true if you have a working antivirus. Any game by Monkeybrainz Software (game company from the 80's that has practically no trace on the internet nowadays). They might actually contain viral code...each game was a really cheap knockoff of another popular game...they were kind of the KING (guys that made Candy Crush) of that time...no big loss...but still. - Comment on pc vs console prices (2015-08-31 12:18:06)
http://www.techworld.com/news/storage/old-file-formats-battle-extinction-threat-7637/ http://www.ijdc.net/index.php/ijdc/article/view/76/44 There are multiple data formats from early computing (pretty much anything from the 50's and 60's) that are completely unreadable by today's machines...several archival groups worldwide are trying to fix this. - Comment on pc vs console prices (2015-08-29 15:53:04)
There is the bonus feature of 99.999% backwards compatibility (we have lost the ability to convert some old rare few file formats to something readable by modern machines...) be it through emulation or whatnot. - Comment on Anatomica Centauris (2015-08-28 10:52:02)
still bad anatomy (what is happening with all that empty space where a horse's lungs would be?) but still better than the one with the secondary feeding mouths in their feet. - Comment on medi-alert (2015-08-18 11:44:50)
the device actively checking for a heartbeat keeps the fail-state enabled...same as a button being held down...or a piece of software that polls for input every few hours. They are all dead-man's switches. Ones that fail on release are sometimes called "Live-man" or "Vigilance"...like the grip-lever on a train that rings an alarm and cuts down the speed unless the engineer holds it. - Comment on Baseball (2015-08-17 15:32:01)

can and is...called a dead-man's switch. - Comment on Kicked out for devil worship (2015-08-15 18:02:33)
devil worship happens a lot in catholic school apparently. - Comment on medi-alert (2015-08-15 17:20:17)
a Zero-fill format does. But really, just do like the bad guy in the live action Spawn movie...rig an explosive in your computer to a implanted heart-beat monitor in your chest. - Comment on When We Wake review (2015-08-14 16:11:25)
Everyone got 3 episodes dedicated to them dealing with their pasts (well...Ein only got 1...). It didn't necessarily make them better people...but it did help explain their present actions. They all were looking for escape, and ended up making a dysfunctional little family. Or maybe I'm mixing in the comics...everything kinda bleeds together after a while... - Comment on When We Wake review (2015-08-11 11:19:57)
so...I take it you didn't watch the show, then? - Comment on When We Wake review (2015-08-07 17:47:07)

back in my day when a guy would pull Roy from Grant's Ear, we treated him with respect.
