Actually, the reason Ka'ba in Mecca looks like a cube is because it is not meant to be worshiped because of its architecture. Actually it is not meant to be worshiped at all. This is just the focal place, a thing all Muslims can turn to and pray to as something we all have together. Interesting trivia: it was built by the profit Abraham (or Ibrahim) a revered individual in Christianity, Judaism and Islam. That black shroud is actually changed each year and much, much effort goes into making it by hand. The Ka'ba is actually hollow and in pagan times, from Abraham till Muhammad it housed idols (not the American kind.) All Muslims turn toward Ka'ba and during prayer times people pray in a circle around it, but if you are actually inside you can turn anywhere and pray. One of the sides has a black recessed meteorite which is said to be a rock that God sent from Heaven to Earth. It has no magical properties, it is jut there. During the Haj, a holy pilgrimage among other things people perform the Tawaf which is going around the Ka'ba seven times. This is what these people are doing. Despite the comments I am glad that Mcs is bringing this truly awe inspiring place to people.

Actually these are not only Hungarian. We have them here is Bosnia as well. The guy in the picture is a chimney sweep. Their motto is that these candies (usually in mint flavor)is the chimney sweep of your throat. And he is black with soot not as a result of a million years of evolution. I actually quite like them.
