In Mencken's time, he most likely was only familiar with Christianity. However, I don't see anything in his statement that is aimed at one specific religion over another. Considering that what's in the Torah is found in the bible, and again in the Koran, when you speak about one, you kind of are speaking of them all. At what point in this discussion are you seeing that someone bashing one religion or another?

No, it's stupid to give the government any money you don't have to. Do we need to change the way taxes are collected and the way they are spent? Yes.

Which war was this? The one where we bought Manhattan? Yes, there were battles, but it's a LOT more complicated then 'they lost it in a war'. The was with Mexico cost Mexico some land, but we bartered and basically occupied land we wanted. The Louisiana purchase was actually our largest single land acquisition (not counting buying Alaska from Russia, as that was much later). The problem is that we pushed people off their land when we 'bought' it from whomever. Winning land in a war isn't really a good way to do it either. If that were the case, I'd like to welcome the new states of Iraq and Afghanistan. I'd hold off on changing the flag though, since we'll probably be adding Iran soon.

There was a implied subtext that aunt May and Jarvis were a thing when they were living in Avengers Tower.

Ironically, what I liked about Conroy's Batman is that he was more brooding. That and the gothic/art deco designs made it the best batman series to date.

Actually, I can: Definition of Straw Man Fallacy: Person 1 has position X. Person 2 disregards certain key points of X and instead presents the superficially similar position Y. In this case: Luminary has a position, you disregarded key points of that position, and call his argument a straw man. Your argument is a lot closer to fitting the definition of a straw man, his is based on fact. Can you dispute Maslowe's Hierarchy with reputable evidence? If you can do that, you'd not only prove Luminary wrong (I'm not saying that he is, in fact, I agree with him) You'd be responsible for a massive change in a basic tenant of Psychology.

Your 2nd post was insulting. The fact that your trying to spin it into "anyone who down voted me should not be allowed to be a mod" is the reason you shouldn't be a mod. Down votes are an expression of speech. You are your own example.
