Spyro is a series of platform video games which primarily features the protagonist Spyro the Dragon. Since the series’ introduction in 1998, there have been numerous sequels, spinoffs and reboots. Originally owned by Universal Studios and created by Insomniac Games, the franchise has changed hands and developers numerous times. In 2008, Activision acquired the rights to the IP.
