MCS has updated how “Plus” is calculated.

In ye olden days right up until earlier today, to receive all the glorious benefits of MCS+, you’d sign up on Patreon, I’d get an email, then I’d flip a couple switches that would change your account permissions on the WWW site, then when I remembered to, I would also flip the switches on the NSFW site, but now we have 50+ subspaces (and growing!), the people that pay the bills are noticing that I’m not flipping all the switches that needed to be flipped in order for ads to be hidden and future queues to be exposed, among other things.  There were no end-dates for those switches getting flipped though, so there was a strong likelihood that if you ever signed up for MCS+ you received it’s benefits far longer than your initial support warranted.  I think I went back through a couple times and took some people out, but my updates today showed that it’s either been a while or my memories are just figments of a drunken stupor.

I fixed all that nonsense though!

Now when you sign up on Patreon, I get an email and I just click on your account and say “give plus” and it sets a date for it to expire.  Every time you’re logged into the site you’ll be able to skip all the ads, won’t see the twitch embeds, and you’ll have access to the future post queue.  Patreon itself though still doesn’t give me the ability to ask during sign up what your MCS user name is, so when you do sign up, expect me to get that question to you within a few days.  You can include it as a message if you want quicker results though!

Everyone that’s sent in anything towards the legal defense fund has been given MCS+ for a considerable time, and I’m pretty sure that I’ve cross referenced paypal, Patreon, the MCS userdatabase, and all my email accounts in a way that gave everyone the benefit of the doubt, but if you’re signed in, seeing ads, and think you shouldn’t, either stop by the discord or shoot me an email.

Next up, I’m going to be:

1. Add back the User number to the comments so you feel cool when you see how low your number is
2. adding some badges to your profiles
3. then trying to figure out how to add MCS+ badges to the comments, which is something I dearly miss from many years ago.
