    “Gotham Knights” Review

Gotham Knights: Created by Natalie Abrams, Chad Fiveash, James Patrick Stoteraux. With Oscar Morgan, Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Ziraili Robinson, Fallon Smythe. Bruce Wayne is murdered and his adopted son forges an alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies. As the city becomes more dangerous, these mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors, known as the Gotham Knights.

Only lasted a single season on the tail end of the CW comic book infatuation in early 2023, “Gotham Knights” does what so many other Batman related properties have done, which is to immediately remove the caped crusader from the picture, in this case by drinking the wrong thing, then being thrown through the windows of his penthouse. From there we learn that a shadowy group of Gotham City elites are doing shadowy stuff and are responsible for the death of Batman along with a long list of other nefarious deeds. The show is largely on target with the goal of telling the story of a group of kids that have been framed for the murder of Bruce Wayne, but there’s times when some performative agendas get slightly too performative, though it never reaches levels that would cause me to not recommend the show.

It’s worth chucking out, the acting is pretty good, the actors are all super pretty, and the adaptation of Scott Snyder’s 2011 “Court of Owls” storyline is worth the time. Additionally, I think this is one of the better on screen versions of Two Face out there.
