watched it again and the colors, by god the colors are amazing. I hope they make more, at this point, Paramount is our only hope for a good Trek experience, CBS is continuing to screw the pooch with Discovery.

Star Wars: Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith review

51RHXMVH9YL Star Wars: Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
The turning point for the entire Star Wars saga is at hand. . . .

As combat escalates across the galaxy, the stage is set for an explosive endgame: Obi-Wan undertakes a perilous mission to destroy the dreaded Separatist military leader, General Grievous. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine continues to strip away constitutional liberties in the name of security while influencing public opinion to turn against the Jedi. And a conflicted Anakin fears that his secret love, Senator Padmé Amidala, will die. Tormented by unspeakable visions, Anakin edges closer to the brink of a galaxy-shaping decision. It remains only for Darth Sidious to strike the final staggering blow against the Republic–and to ordain a fearsome new Sith Lord: Darth Vader.

Why this movie ended up in my viewing for the day I’ll never know, but there it is, the third prequel and final Star Wars movie directed by Lucas. For better or worse, it broke new ground in digital filming technologies and green screen movie making. Looking back at it now, I can see how many poor decisions were made in the story telling, the special effects and basic movie making logic, but it still holds a certain charm that can be appreciated. Of particular note is SOME of the sword play, oddly switching from silly “waving your swords at each other” choreography to down right impressive active, often within the same scene. The one scene that sticks out in my is the initial confrontation between Anakin and Obiwan on Mustafar, starts out very strong in the control room and just descends right into the depths of camp.

Star Trek: Discovery’s Release Date Becomes Slightly Less Murky

star trek uss discovery ship 0 Star Trek: Discoverys Release Date Becomes Slightly Less Murky

Star Trek: Discovery will rev its engines on CBS All Access “sometime late summer, early fall we’re looking at probably right now,” CBS chief Les Moonves told investors today at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference.

The series was delayed from the original plan to launch in May. “It’s important to get it right, and Star Trek is the family jewels,” Moonves says. “We’re not going to rush it in. There’s a lot of post production. But I’m very confident based on what I’ve seen so far.” DeadLine

So maybe sometime this year, maybe in quarter 3.
