“Abigail” Review

If you’re a fan of Dan Stevens (like me!) you’re having a good time this year, as this is his second movie that’s currently in theaters that you can see him in, the other being the current Godzilla x Kong: New Empire. This is the superior of the two movies, with more Mr Stevens and a better plot that was a fun horror story. If you’ve seen the trailers, you’ve unfortunately had one of the great horror twists spoiled, but it doesn’t stayed all that mysterious for very long in the film, only about 20-30 minutes. The action is great, the acting is fantastic, and Melissa Barrera absolutely kills it in yet another fantastic ‘final girl’ style horror film.

“The Crow: City of Angels” Review
Tags:Comic Books, Movie Posters, Movie Reviews, Movies, The Crow
I’m astounded that the first one did well enough that a sequel was green lit, but I guess at this point they threw a few big names at the screen to see if they’d work, like Thomas Pane, Iggy Pop and Mia Kirshner. They’re using the same mid 90s miniatures and green screens, the same grungy soundtrack, locations, and people, and the story is just a cringy as the first one, though this time it’s a man and his kid that are killed and thrown off a pier that prompts the bird to grant a resurrection and powers to the grieving father. The villain is much more interesting this time around, with him understanding what the situation was pretty quickly and using some magic of his own to usurp the Crow’s abilities, but alas it was all for nothing, as The Crow has other crows to give him powers, and if all those other crows fly through The Crow, then The Crow gets all his powers back (which are unrelated to crows or birds at all, but maybe leather and motorcycles?). It’s a bit of a leap to call this sequel entertaining, but it was definitely a movie that I watched tonight.
