Crazy Horse Face
I don’t know which is more awesome: the actual face carved in a mountain or that there is no government agency to prevent people from fucking up a complete mountain and the surrounding scenery like that.

Millenium Park, Chicago
Being from Houston, I was really impressed with Chicago’s efforts to beautify the city. IMO, Millenium Park is a truly beautiful place for outdoor recreation set in a gorgeous city well-built for business & shopping.

Echo Slightly
These guys have been advertising on MCS and the other various TWG sites for the last couple weeks. I love their music, and so should you. If you go to their site, you’ll see one of my drunking reviews there, which is just hilarious, cause I totally don’t remember sending that shit in, yet there it is.
Headlights, Imperial Sand Dunes, California, 2005
Tags:California, Visual Tricks, Wallpaper
Headlights stream up and down the fluid banks of Imperial Sand Dunes, southeast of California’s Salton Sea, in this time exposure. An off-roaders’ paradise, the dunes were blown from the dry bed of Lake Cahuilla, the sea’s ancient ancestor. More than a million fans hit the dunes each year, pumping $54 million into local coffers. The cost? Brawls, fatal crashes, and run-ins with endangered species.

The great stingray migration!
Thousands of majestic stingrays swim to new seas.
Taken by an amateur photographer in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, these photos show the great migration of the Cow-nose Stingrays from the Yucatan Peninsula to western Florida. They travel in compact packs of up to 10,000 individuals following the counter-clockwise current to their summer feeding grounds.
Measuring up to 6ft 6in across, poisonous golden cow-nose rays migrate in groups – or ‘fevers’ – of up to 10,000 as they glide their way silently towards their summer feeding grounds. These bovine-looking stingrays have a poisonous stinger similar to the one that killed animal-lover Steve Irwin but this doesn’t make them less pleasant to look at, especially during their migration.
Lone House
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Picture_of_the_day
A pastoral scene of a lone house, composed using Blender:
Blender is a Free Software 3D animation application. It can be used for modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, water simulations, skinning, animating, rendering, particle and other simulations, non-linear editing, compositing, and creating interactive 3D applications. Blender is available for several operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, IRIX, Solaris, NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD with unofficial ports for BeOS, SkyOS, AmigaOS, MorphOS and Pocket PC. Blender has a robust feature set similar in scope and depth to other high-end 3D software such as Softimage|XSI, Cinema 4D, 3ds Max, Lightwave and Maya. These features include advanced simulation tools such as rigid body, fluid, and softbody dynamics, modifier based modeling tools, powerful character animation tools, a node based material and compositing system and Python for embedded scripting.
I have no idea what any of that means but I thought some of you guys might.
Return of the Bruno
I actually owned this album back in the day, and I’m not ashamed to admit it…… OK, I’m a little ashamed.
Impressive Burj…Worlds’ Tallest..
Burj Dubai (“Dubai Tower”) is a skyscraper under construction in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is the tallest man-made structure on Earth. Construction began on September 21, 2004, and it is expected to be completed and ready for occupation in September 2009.[1]
The building is part of the 2 km² (0.8 sq mi) development called ‘Downtown Dubai’ and is located at the “First Interchange” (aka “Defence Roundabout”) along Sheikh Zayed Road at Doha Street. The tower’s architect is Adrian Smith[4] who worked with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) until 2006.[5] SOM is the architecture and engineering firm in charge of the project.[4] The primary builders are Samsung Engineering & Construction and Besix along with Arabtec.[6] Turner Construction Company was chosen as the construction manager.[7]
The total budget for the Burj Dubai project is about US$4.1 billion and for the entire new ‘Downtown Dubai’, US$20 billion. Mohamed Ali Alabbar, the CEO of Emaar Properties, speaking at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat 8th World Congress, said that the price of office space at Burj Dubai had reached $4,000 per sq ft and that the Armani Residences, also in Burj Dubai, were selling for $3,500 per sq ft.[8]
Wiener shrine
I saw this place listed in the “What to see in Bangkok” book and had to go. It’s a tiny, dark corner away from anything else of interest but it was worth the tuk-tuk ride.
Amusing clothing
I took these while I was in Thailand. One would hope that one would check the spelling when making knock offs. The shirts are just funny.
Bugs
I caught the tail end of a struggle between a wasp and grasshopper. At the end the wasp said “om nom nom nom”.
