I grabbed these whilst playing the game, you can see some of the bugs that I experiences in it, from white text on white backgrounds to absolutely nothing showing on the screen after opening a loot box.

There’s also some good there too, it’s a very beautiful game.  I’ll have a real review up one day.

Star Wars Battlefront II

Star Wars Battlefront II is an upcoming action shooter video game based on the Star Wars film franchise. It is the fourth major installment of the Star Wars: Battlefront series and seventh overall, and a sequel to the 2015 reboot of the series. It is under development by EA DICE in collaboration with Criterion Games and Motive Studios, and published by Electronic Arts.Unlike its 2015 predecessor, it features a story-driven single-player campaign and multiplayer character classes; it also features cross-era characters and locations from the original, prequel and sequel Star Wars movie trilogies The game is scheduled to be released worldwide on November 17, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

I played this a full three years after it came out, and much like the three Disney sequel movies, it’s a beautiful game with a compelling universe to play in, but falls absolutely flat. I didn’t play any of the multiplayer, as I played a few hours of the first one’s and grew tired of it within minutes, so I know that I wasn’t going to enjoy more of the same here.

For the single player campaigns, there were no show stopping bugs to be had, but the gameplay was not as dialed in as I would expect from a SW game, especially after playing Fallen Order, but maybe the lessons learned from SWBF2 is why Fallen Order was so much better. There was white text on white backgrounds,broken loot boxes, but even with all that I still think I enjoyed both campaigns. Oh, did I not mention? there’s two campaigns here, which I appreciate, but now know I absolutely hated having a whole other story dumped on me. The second part was blissfully short, but was more of the same floaty nonsense that the main campaign had. I remember something like this happening in a Batman LEGO game and I just straight up quit the game.

You can safely skip this game unless you’re super interested in the story elements, but I think your time would be better spent on wikipedia reading the plot in 5 minutes than spending 20 hours playing through it yourself.

Terminator Dark Fate star Mackenzie Davis talks franchise fatigue ‘Six is too much now we know’

It may be time to shut down Skynet for a while and allow for Terminator franchise fatigue to abate. Recently appeaing on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, actress Mackenzie Davis opened up about the lukewarm reception to Terminator: Dark Fate.

I strongly feel like she’s wrong about franchise fatigue. I think she’s on to something though when she’s talking about the headbutting between the two creatives (Miller and Cameron), and I think that the franchise only works when there’s a singular strong creative leader that’s able to give a larger vision of what they want to do with the story.

For my part, I enjoyed Dark Fate more than the previous two entries.

watched it again to finish out my star trek marathon that got sidetracked by a Star Wars game, every time I see this film I feel more and more that this was the right direction for the franchise to go in, but that it would be nice to have this style of bombastic space battle stuff at the same time we have the slower cerebral stuff that TNG was known for.

Played right through it in about four days and only installed it because it was included in GamePass, which now includes whatever the EA version of gamepass is named.

It’s a fun game that really hits hard if you’ve been watching the last 20 years of Star Wars movies and television shows, a little less so if you’re not an fervent fan. No spoilers, but I was unhappy with the ending. While I didn’t enjoy the final 30 seconds of the story, boy howdy was I impressed with the content before that, along with the gameplay that was just barely starting to feel repetitive towards the end. It should be no surprise to anyone that you start with a few Jedi powers, then work your way up to having more Jedi powers, along with collection various bits and bobs along the way, and that gameplay loop worked very well for my tastes.

The way the game ends leaves the opportunity for plenty of sequels, so here’s hoping they do something cool with the storyline!

I was expecting just another art book, but this turned out to be a massive tomb of behind the scenes stories, concept art, and storyboarding. The best part of this book is that it’s a large format book and the photos inside of the ship miniatures are in extreme high resolution. One of the main draw back though was that instead of using just a single page for each image, they shot for the stars and did a double page spread that unfortunately didn’t work very well due to how the book is bound, leading to some unfortunate situations where the center focus of the photo was lost to the page split:
