Comic Review for week of November 14 2018

  BLOODSHOT: RISING SPIRIT #1 COVER B MACK
  I’ve heard this is one of the best selling Valiant comics in years, but it was still underwhelming for me.  Hopefully the story makes a little more sense after a few more issues.

  DR. HORRIBLE: BEST FRIENDS FOREVER #0
  Wasn’t on my pull list, but my comic shop pulled it for me anyways, thank god.  This was a fun but brief journey back to the Doctor Horrible Universe.

  EXILES #10
  What a terrible conclusion to a terrible storyline.

  FANTASTIC FOUR #3
  A stunning tale of fantastic four members all coming together to do fantastic things against an unbeatable enemy.  I’m happy that Mr Fantastic has a name for particular types of beings in the Marvel Multiverse, but I’m concerned that with the end of this issue comes the end of their multiverse / outer space adventures.  I’m not really looking forward to them rejoining Earth and am much happier reading about them doing fantastic things elsewhere.

  FIREFLY #1 JOCK VARIANT
  That cover is gorgeous isn’t it?  The story inside is pretty damn fantastic and they perfectly get the dialogue, which has been a struggle for past Firefly books.  I look forward to the next issue!

  G.I. JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO #257
  Bleh.

  HIT-GIRL #10 COVER B ALBUQUERQUE
  I like the new art direction, I like the skulls, I like the jewels, I hate the racist overtones of the bad guys.

  INFINITE DARK #2
  Space Horror done right.
   

• 

  MARVEL’S CAPTAIN MARVEL PRELUDE #1
  Boring and unneeded.  Skip it and just go see the movie.

  NINJA-K #13 PRE-ORDER COVER
  Dark and muddled art but I like where the story is going.  I’m not too familiar with the friendship between Ninja-K and The Eternal Warrior, but I get the impression they’re pretty darn close.

  STAR TREK VS. TRANSFORMERS #2
  I honestly felt like this was an episode of the Star Trek Animated series.  Fantastic retro art direction for both the Trek crew and the Robots in disguise.
   

• 

  STAR WARS: DARTH VADER #23
  This issue left me feeling like there’s no possible way for them to top what they’ve done.  Yet I’ve felt that way for the last few Vader issues, so since I was wrong before, I’ll be happy to be wrong in the future.

  STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA #26
  A murderous protocal droid?  What will they think of next?!
