New Book Announcement Star Trek Discovery The Enterprise War

Star Trek Discovery season 2 still Captain Pike 300x200 New Book Announcement: Star Trek: Discovery: The Enterprise War

John Jackson Miller has announced a new Star Trek book titled Star Trek: Discovery: The Enterprise War.

    Here’s a brief synopsis:

A shattered ship, a divided crew—trapped in the infernal nightmare of conflict!

Hearing of the outbreak of hostilities between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire, Captain Christopher Pike attempts to bring the U.S.S. Enterprise home to join in the fight. But in the hellish nebula known as the Pergamum, the stalwart commander instead finds an epic battle of his own, pitting ancient enemies against one another—with not just the Enterprise, but her crew as the spoils of war.

Lost and out of contact with Earth for an entire year, Pike and his trusted first officer, Number One, struggle to find and reunite the ship’s crew—all while Science Officer Spock confronts a mystery that puts even his exceptional skills to the test…with more than their own survival possibly riding on the outcome….

Star Trek: Discovery: The Enterprise War will be available on July 30, 2019.

Hat tip to the always awesome Trek Collective.

it’s like one of those fish things that do this too, but only this one is for stray warriors wandering through the haunted woods.

The above scene does not happen in the book, but the stuff that DOES happen is pretty fun.  If a bloodbath is your definition of fun.

I’m really digging the fact that there are aliens in the Dredd-verse.  It’s weird to wrap my head around, but I dig it.

End of the series?  This final story wraps up a whole bunch of interesting things that were just really starting to come to light.

Why yes that is a Transformer that’s in the shape of the TOS Enterprise.

Three different stories, all of them good and worthy of a whole book.

Pretty sure I should have read the first 10 issues of this series to get even a clue as to what’s going on here.

At no point did this scene happen in the comic.  The B-Story in this book was better then the A-Story.

These True Believer books are usually a bit of a slog to get though, the writing and art from so long ago are at times rough, but these four Conan ones have really exposed me to some cool stories.  In this one there’s a mage with golden bones that’s holding a monster at bay, all while marrying a kidnapped princess.  I loved every minute of it, but was happy when I was done.
