  • Star Wars Rise Of Skywalkers Rotten Tomatoes Score Is A Travesty

The critical reception to ‘Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker’ is baffling in the extreme.

The failure to recognize that this was it, this was the final chance, that’s the reason that the critical response was so hostile. The Phantom Menace had the benefit of being the first new Star Wars content in decades, where as Rise of Skywalker is just another misstep in a long series of missteps.

    The Blind Side

Directed by John Lee Hancock. With Quinton Aaron, Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, Jae Head. The story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All-American football player and first-round NFL draft pick with the help of a caring woman and her family.

A fun story of a huge kid in a depressingly shitty situation. It all ends well enough, but I wish we could solve these problems on a community level instead of just one kid at a time.

    Age of Ultron

For years the heroes of the Marvel Universe have lived in fear that the Avengers’ greatest mistake and deadliest foe, the artificial intelligence known as Ultron, would one day fulfill its desire to eradicate all organic life and dominate the Earth – that day has arrived!

A fun time traveling story with murder, self murder, killing your past self in the future, then killing furture self in the past when you travel to the savage land.

it’s a great story till the time travel starts, then it get wonky, but still a great story to read.

Hemakes daily trips, risking his life to try and rescue those still living in theapocalyptic hellscape of Oblivion. But maybe…Nathan is looking for somethingelse? Why can’t he resist the siren call of the OblivionSong?

    Collects OBLIVION SONG#1-6

I finally purchased the 2 or 3 issues that I was missing and boy howdy, was I happy with it when I finally got to reading them. There’s about 23 out as this review, and for the most part each issue is a fairly quick read, but the plot moves with intensity. I was able to read them all in just a couple hours and now I want more, but it’s going to be slow going.

    Satanic Panic

Directed by Chelsea Stardust. With Rebecca Romijn, Arden Myrin, Hayley Griffith, Ruby Modine. A pizza delivery girl at the end of her financial rope has to fight for her life – and her tips – when her last order of the night turns out to be high society Satanists in need of a virgin sacrifice.

A movie that strives to be a shitty b-rated film, but fails upwards with too many good hooks and clever editing.

My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic

Created by Lauren Faust, Bonnie Zacherle. With Ashleigh Ball, Tara Strong, Tabitha St. Germain, Andrea Libman. After learning that her friends, as well as herself, are the magical Elements of Harmony, studious unicorn Twilight Sparkle is sent by her mentor, Princess Celestia, to Ponyville to study the magic of friendship with help from her friends.

You ever watch a series, get half way through an episode, and get a distinct impression that you’re watching the final episode of the entire thing? That happened to me, and it was sad. I started watching this show on a lark, was happy with the humor and songs and constant character growth, and stayed on board because it continued to be great. There was a time that I would mention the show to friends, but with the advent of the toxic brony fandom, I stopped doing that, but if you’re able to watch it for what it is, a show about friends learning lessons and keeping that knowledge in future episodes, set to song, and accompanied by Q from Star Trek.

    Mr Robot

Created by Sam Esmail. With Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Carly Chaikin, Martin Wallström. Elliot, a brilliant but highly unstable young cyber-security engineer and vigilante hacker, becomes a key figure in a complex game of global dominance when he and his shadowy allies try to take down the corrupt corporation he works for.

A very tightly scripted and believable series about mental health, society’s issues, computers, technology, and everything that goes into all of those things.

That final season was intense, and did not shy away from going where it needed to.

    The Kitchen

Directed by Andrea Berloff. With Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, Elisabeth Moss, Domhnall Gleeson. The wives of New York gangsters in Hell’s Kitchen in the 1970s continue to operate their husbands’ rackets after they’re locked up in prison.

The trailers made this to be more of a comedy than it ended up being, which was a legit street level period piece set in the 70’s. Enjoyable and I think even re-watchable.  I will say that I wasn’t 100% on board with the editing of the film, it could have used a bit more TLC.

    Star Trek Picard

Created by Kirsten Beyer, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman. With Patrick Stewart, Santiago Cabrera, Alison Pill, Isa Briones. Plot kept under wraps. Described as a follow-up series to Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), and centers on Jean-Luc Picard (Sir Patrick Stewart) in the next chapter of his life.

The first episode out and it’s almost everything I could hope for. The main theme is pretty forgettable, but Patrick Stewart really comes out swinging and doesn’t stop for the entire episode.
