    Once & Future Volume 1

When a group of Nationalists use an ancient artifact to bring a villain from Arthurian myth back from the dead, retired monster hunter Bridgette McGuire pulls her unsuspecting grandson Duncan, a museum curator, into a world of magic and mysticism to defeat a legendary threat. Now the two must navigate the complicated history of the McGuire family, all while combating the deadly secrets of England’s past that threaten its very future.

New York Times bestselling writer Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + The Divine, Star Wars) and Russ Manning Award-winning artist Dan Mora (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Klaus) explore the mysteries of the past, the complicated truths of our history and the power of family to save the day…especially if that family has secret bunkers of ancient weapons and decades of experience hunting the greatest monsters in Britain’s history!

    Collects Once & Future #1-6.

The synopsis is wrong, but I see it wrong literally EVERYWHERE, so maybe that was the original intent at one time but how howdy I’m here to tell you that I don’t even give a flip, because this is an amazing comic book, with amazing art and a story that really pulled me in.

    Fantastic book!

    Wanderers

The highly anticipated paperback edition of the runaway smash thriller of the year.

A decadent rock star. A deeply religious radio host. A disgraced scientist. And a teenage girl who may be the world’s last hope. From the mind of Chuck Wendig comes an astonishing tapestry of humanity that Harlan Coben calls “a suspenseful, twisty, satisfying, surprising, thought-provoking epic.”

The story is an epic tapestry of humanity, told in a chorus of disparate voices, including Shana, a young girl who wakes up one morning to discover her sister in the grip of a strange malady. She appears to be sleepwalking. She cannot talk and cannot be woken up. And she is heading with inexorable determination to a destination that only she knows. But Shana and are sister are not alone. Soon they are joined by a flock of sleepwalkers from across America, on the same mysterious journey. And like Shana, there are other “shepherds” who follow the flock to protect their friends and family on the long dark road ahead. For on their journey, they will discover an America convulsed with terror and violence, where this apocalyptic epidemic proves less dangerous than the fear of it.

Wanderers is wonderful-a suspenseful, twisty, satisfying, surprising, thought-provoking epic of a novel.”
-Harlan Coben, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Run Away

Wanderers is a true tour de force, a feat of storytelling strength that remains with you long after the final page is turned.”
-Erin Morgenstern, New York Times bestselling author of The Night Circus

“A magnum opus that grapples with culture, science, faith, and our collective anxiety while delivering an epic equal to Steven King’s The Stand…”
    Kirkus Reviews, starred review

“This career-defining epic deserves its inevitable comparisons to Stephen King’s The Stand, easily rising above the many recent novels of pandemic and societal collapse.”
    -Publishers Weekly, starred review

“Chuck Wendig’s latest, Wanderers, is a magnum opus… epic in scope, yet told with an intimacy that hooked me from the first page. It reminded me of a technological version of Stephen King’s The Stand-but dare I say, this is even better…”
-James Rollins, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Crucible

“With Wanderers, Chuck Wendig levels up-and when you consider the high level he was already writing at, that’s saying something.”
John Scalzi, New York Times bestselling author of The Consuming Fire

“[Chuck Wendig] is set to make a significant literary statement in 2019 with this Station 11-esque panorama of a post-apocalyptic America.”
    Entertainment Weekly

I grabbed this back when it was just $3.99 and had high hopes for it, it had some story elements that I thought I would be interested in, then about 1/3 of the way through the book another set of story elements were introduced that well and truly excited me. Sadly they didn’t go in the direction I thought they would and with some glaring plot holes I was near constantly screaming at the story in my head.

I want to vent to someone about this, so be weary of the comment section, there’s going to be spoilers there 😛

Selena was played by the arguably now more famous Jennifer Lopez, who I forgot is a pretty damn good actress as well.

Such a shame about the end of Selena’s life. What an absolute waste.

This was a good movie but man what a downer.
