    The Terminal

The Terminal: Directed by Steven Spielberg. With Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Stanley Tucci, Chi McBride. An Eastern European tourist unexpectedly finds himself stranded in JFK airport, and must take up temporary residence there.

I remembered the broad details of the film, but had forgotten many of the details, like any of the other actors in the film than Tom Hanks, who was his amazing, charming self. Zoe Saldana doesn’t even make the IMDB main credits, but she plays a security guard who’s a huge Trekkie, which makes me somewhat suspicious of the timeline of events and who’s involved. “The Terminal” is from 2004, about 5 years before she was cast in the role of Uhura by JJ Abhrams, who’s (maybe?) a close friend of Steven Spielberg.

National Vinyl Day and Star Trek

somehow missed that National Vinyl Day was on August 12th, but it’s on my calendar now, so I’ll be sure to mention it again next year, but Star Trek has a pretty fun history with Vinyl, with many soundtracks and original stories being first pressed into round shapes before they were released as tapes, cds, or digital bits that just float through the ether of the internet.  I own a good many of them myself with a record player that I bought just for the Trek records I was collecting, some of which are pretty good and others are certainly not.

Do you have any yourself? Am I missing any from the list that you’d like to see added?
