Sweden. 1989. When the residents of Östertörn wake to find robots on the rampage, winning becomes living. Alone or with up to three friends, sneak, scavenge and shoot your way to safety across a vast, varied landscape that is as intriguing as it is deadly.

I found the concept cool and they had a fantastic sale, it was only $6! This is much more of a pondering, lingering game than it is an extreme battle for supremacy over a robot horde, but even with how long it can be between encounters with enemies, it’s still best played with a full co-op team. I played a ton of it on Twitch, so if you’re like to see game play, that’s the best place to see it.

My favorite memory of the game was when there were four of us creeping around at night, getting absolutely wrecked by one of the larger battle bots, and all four of us were unloading every rocket we had at it from multiple points of attack, with the lights and sound of the explosion echoing off the mountains and trees that surrounded us. It was glorious!

Season 3 is finally here, and it’s exactly what I was hoping for, lots of adventure, lots of plot elements getting wrapped up, lots of “Is Dr Smith evil still?” moments, and ultimately, eight episodes of pure fantastic science fiction goodness. It’s the final season and there’s no plans that I’ve been able to find to continue the story on Netflix, This is a shame! An outrage!

You can view their full press release at the link above, but boy howdy has this been a long time coming. Marvel’s been doing slightly ok with their books, but IDW has really been stinking up the joint with nearly everything they’ve put out with a SW logo on it. Doesn’t help that IDW names their series in what I find to be one of the most convoluted methods possible. Did I want Star Wars Adventures? or was it Star Wars Adventure: Twisted Tower, but the second part of the title is hidden at the bottom of the comic cover?

Hit-Monkey: Created by Josh Gordon, Will Speck. With Olivia Munn, Fred Tatasciore, Jason Sudeikis, Ally Maki. It tells the tale of a wronged Japanese snow monkey, mentored by the ghost of an American assassin, as he cuts a wide swath through the Tokyo underworld.

Did I expect to like this series when I started it? No, I did not, not even remotely. The animation is stuttered, the concept is silly, the character is silly, and it’s the last project of the now defunct wing of the Disney empire that was busy pumping out sub par Marvel content that only just barely connected to the MCU in any way.

While watching the 10 episodes of the first season however, I found myself actually caring about the Hit-Monkey in a way that snuck up on me, and even started to see the ghost haunting him as a kindred spirit. Maybe it’s because I’ve been enjoying Jason Sudeikis in Ted Lasso, or maybe I’m just in a place where a dead hit man permanently attached to a snow monkey makes sense.

I can only hope for a second season!
