    Horizon Zero Dawn Screenshots

Here’s all the screenshots that I took while playing the game, most of them are from the second half of the game, so there’s some minor spoilers on a few of them.  You may notice that about half of them have dull colors.  Here’s why that is:

1 – I’m playing this on steam, which has a built in screenshot tool (x-box button + right trigger while in big screen mode)

2 – I’m playing this on a laptop that supports 4k/HDR, which I have a autohotkey setup to screenshot the fullscreen (just hitting the x-box button)

3 – I have that laptop hooked up to an OLED TV that supports 4k/HDR, and it looks absolutely amazing with this setup.

4 – The steam screen system doesn’t capture the HDR data for the screenshots and look like absolute crap when compared to the AHK version.

Going to put these behind a cut because of how many there are:

    The Matrix Resurrections

The Matrix Resurrections: Directed by Lana Wachowski. With Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff. Return to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it. To find out if his reality is a construct, to truly know himself, Mr. Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more.

    A spoiler free review:

If you’re a huge fan of the Matrix, you’ve already seen this, or you’re about to see it, however if you’re not a huge fan of the franchise, you can safely wait until it’s on broadcast TV or your friend has it on in the background while you’re over at their house for your annual BBQ in 10 years. It answers nothing, asks all sorts of questions, presents all sorts of problems, then flips it’s hair and leaves the building with a knowing wink. There’s no time to talk about why there’s no time, and gosh darn it, there’s a lot of fake fighting going on.

It feels more like a sequel to the ideology of Matrix Revolutions though, it definitely captures the feel of those last two films.

    The Matrix Revolutions

The Matrix Revolutions: Directed by Lana Wachowski, Lilly Wachowski. With Mary Alice, Tanveer K. Atwal, Helmut Bakaitis, Kate Beahan. The human city of Zion defends itself against the massive invasion of the machines as Neo fights to end the war at another front while also opposing the rogue Agent Smith.

The third matrix movie, and I watched it.

Lots of very many things attacked a single underground city, then a compromise is reached and humanity is saved. It leaves a number of large questions:

    Is Neo actually dead?
Why was he glowing so brightly at the end of the film?
What happened to the Matrix after he did what he did?
    What happened to Agent Smith?
    What happened to Zion?

I know there’s a couple video games, the Animatrix, The Matrix Online, and pieces of media that continue the story or fill in the blanks of the universe, but as we all know, canon is canon until it isn’t. Maybe this new film that’s out today will answer some of these questions?
