Look Away: Directed by Assaf Bernstein. With India Eisley, Jason Isaacs, Mira Sorvino, Penelope Mitchell. Maria, an alienated high-school student, has her life turned upside down when she switches places with her sinister mirror image.

The idea that there’s another darker version of you on the other side of the mirror is nothing new, but this is one of the better versions of that story. India Eisley is a new actor to me, but she absolutely killed in in “Look Away” playing two versions of the same mousey high schooler and Assaf Bernstein uses some exceptionally good camera work with angles and and tricks that work horrifyingly well. Jason Isaacs does well as the father that isn’t loving or supporting enough and Mira Sorvino is the mother that’s present but not really, but with some good reasons.

Publication dates shifted for three books

“Star Trek: The Art of Neville Page: Inside The Mind of The Visionary Designer” has been pushed from coming out next week to all the way until April 11, 2023, a full 8 months later.  If you’ve pre-ordered it, you’ll want to temper your expectations on when you’ll actually be able to check it out.

“Star Trek Captains – The Autobiographies” has moved from September 6th to October 11th, 2022, this is a boxed set of previously printed books, so I can only imagine that the global paper supply is to blame for this one being pushed back.

“Star Trek – A Woman’s Trek: From Uhura to Burnham – Star Treks’ Female Stars on Six Decades of Change and Empowerment” has not been canceled, but it’s publication status is up in the air.  It was previously being published by the now shuttered Hero Collector company, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for updates on if it’s either going to a new publisher or will be a part of the company’s asset sales.  It’s publish date has been removed completely from the listing page, but the page will remain to either be updated or it’ll be there to commemorate a great book that never made it to print.

Site Update: Going Day By Day

I’ve added some code to the “day” archives that will take you to the next and previous days, something that I’ve been meaning to do for a while, but I’ve never been sure how beneficial it would be, but now that the plus side of the site is doing 1,000+ images a day, I figured it was time.

Another largish update is to the main page on plus.myconfinedspace.com which now includes the most recent sub_tags and posts.  You don’t currently have to be plus to get in over there, but you do need to be logged in.
