If you judge this series on what it set out to do, it did it very well and stuck the landing. I’m not here to judge that though, I’m here to judge the basic premise of the show. In a prefect world, She-hulk could stand on her own story without the meta-meta commentary that’s inherent with the character. I think I would be much happier with the show if it didn’t suck in several other characters, several of which I love and hold dear, but they turned into parodies whilst in She-Hulk.
In line with the rest of the MCU, if you miss this series, you’re to miss several pretty large reveals and story points that are going to be popping up again in the future. I’m ok with that, because I’m addicting to watching everything they put out, but I’m sure that I’m in a growing minority of people that have seen all 20+ movies and 50+ episodes of tv that have come out in the last decade. I think once a year Marvel needs to do a in universe story catch up, either by using the Daily Bugle or something akin to a Watcher that can just give an exposition dump about everything that lead up to the point that particular movie is about to feature.
