Chris Pratt Eyed For Indiana Jones
Disney has just started to turn its attention to reviving the Indiana Indiana Jones bullwhipJones franchise after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013. I’m cautioned that while things are very early, I hear the studio has set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around, the role made famous by Harrison Ford in Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

I’ve been tearing through the first season and a half of this series in the last week, at least when I wasn’t playing Titanfall. Why? It’s a post apocalyptic story set 100 years after humanity nuked itself into the stone age, with only a couple thousand survivors finding safety in a space ark. A hundred years later and shit starts to break down so they send down 100 of their best looking young adults to the planet’s surface to see if it’s survivable or not.
Turns out (spoilers!) that it is, and you can have sex on the surface, which all the kids then do in every other scene. Sometimes they fight, but in a sexy way, and sometimes they build things, in a sexy way.
Programing note, it’s not named “the one hundred”, it’s just “the hundred”, which I find silly.
Expect to see a significant amount of images from this show in the future, most noticeably of Eliza Taylor, who was apparently the only blonde in space.
Sellers and Kubrick
Tags:Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Peter Sellers, Stanley Kubrick
Bizarrely, Sellers insisted on starting this interview by being Franz Liebkind from The Producers. He was offered the role of Leo Bloom by Mel Brooks and didn’t even bother to reply. Watching this, it’s uncanny how he slips effortlessly from character to character, accent to accent, like he was a hollow vessel just waiting to be filled by someone else, almost akin to possession. (Ooh. Get me. I’ve gone all philosophical)

On The Town
Since The Thin Man post I’ve been thinking about other writing couples. Betty Comden and Adolph Green wrote some of the best musicals ever made, and because of Comden’s input, the female characters were great. I particularly like On The Town’s Brunhilde Esterhazy,(Betty Garrett)a horny lady taxi driver who’s intent on getting Frank Sinatra to “COME UP TO MY PLACE”, and Claire Huddesen, (Ann Miller) an equally horny anthropologist who has designs on Ozzie (Jules Munshin. “C’mon specimen!”

I need at least 5 other people to post to Internet-D
it’s amazingly easy now, I’ve been testing out ITTT with youtube/delicious/vimeo integration and the last couple weeks have been very, very, INCREDIBLY easy to get content up to the site. Small problem is that 1 – there isn’t ENOUGH content going up to make any kind of traffic sense, and 2 – there isn’t an audience, so here’s your awareness indicator, www.internet-d.com is being stocked with random internet tidbits on an hourly basis. Back when Star Trek was on the air, I thought they used the Borg way too much.
Now I’m watching Doctor Who and their use of the Dalecs puts the Borg overusage to shame.
Is there a mandate to have them in every other episode from the BBC?

Tales from the Borderlands
Tales from the Borderlands is an upcoming adventure game based on the Borderlands series, with a planned release starting in late 2014 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game is being developed by Telltale Games in partnership with Gearbox Software. The game will follow a similar episodic format that Telltale has used for its titles The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, where player choices and actions will have significant effects on later story elements. In addition, the game will include some of the gunplay that the Borderlands series is known for.

This was the most terrifying movie that scares me my entire childhood.
I remember that every time I watch this movie, I use to stay wakes all night. But some how, I always watch when TV replays it again. Today, I like to watch it to laugh to tears.
And my daughter love it, and she has the same age that I had when I first saw this movie.

I recall being totally perplexed when the media announced that Harrison Ford’s ankle had been injured by a falling garage door during the making of the new Star Wars film. That’s a radical re-thinking by JJ Abrams I thought.

HOLY SHIT. Love the way Caesar incorporates his signing with his spoken language. And is that an ape in a wig made out of twigs?!
Thanks to rdeckard for alerting me to this new trailer.
On a more serious note, the shot of Caesar watching the home video footage reminds me of real life, ape language ex superstar Nim, in his final home, a cage on a ranch, wistfully looking through a tattered old copy of Time magazine at images of his childhood and human family.

Flash! Ah Ah! Saviour of the universe!
I’ve heard a disturbing rumour that a new Flash Gordon film is on the starting block. But they’ll never get a better Ming than Von Sydow who had the time of his usually bleak, Bergmanesque life swishing around in costumes by Danilo Donati www.imdb.com/name/nm0232219/ who also designed the whole eye searing production.
As I kid a watched the serial on Saturday mornings and had a morbid fascination with the Clay People. How could they be alive if they were made of clay?! You know the way kids think. It was the same mode of reasoning that freaked me out every time I heard the end of Urban Spaceman. “Now here’s the twist. I don’t exist.” My small cranium would implode under the pressure of the lack of logic.

Sideshow usually knocks it out of the park, but it looks like they’ve really outdone themselves this time!
Han Solo in Carbonite Rug
Because of how human bodies work, these highly-detailed Han Solo rugs are a great size to be a hallway runner, letting all who enter your abode know you are not to be trifled with. (And also that you’re a huge Star Wars fan.) Line the sides of the hallway with “torches” made from lightsabers, and you’ve got the ultimate entryway for your geek pad. Make your doorbell play Imperial March for the pièce de résistance.
Peter Clines’ bestselling Ex series
Tags:Awesome Things, Book Reviews, Books, Comic Books, Zombies
I recently burned through the first two of these, if you’re a comic book fan, this series of book is for YOU:
Ex-Heroes: “The Avengers meets The Walking Dead with a large order of epic served on the side…” a review that I wholeheartedly agree with. The zombie bits are interesting, but that’s just the scenery for the real story.
Ex-Communication: “…there’s more than one way to come back from the dead”
Ex-Purgatory: The madness of George.
I highly recommend this series, it hits all the key points of what I’m interested in, super powered humans, other worldly beings, zombies, super heroes, super villains, post apocalyptic settings and balls to the wall excitement from page to page. The first book is clunky in getting started, but once it’s rolling, it really gains speed quickly.
To be clear though, this is not a comic book series, it’s
Audio Ads
Couple people have mentioned that they’re getting audio ads, which I’m unfortunately not seeing (hearing?) myself. If you can tell which ad block it’s coming from, let me know they all have a label above them.
EDIT: It’s the new ones, which is sorta what I figured, but people are pointing the finger in the right direction, which is awesome. Oh, what’s not awesome though? racist comments or bullshit image embeds that have nothing to do with the post that people are commenting on. I’m going to start deleting those as I see them and they piss me off.
