I’m sure that 99% of you have no clue what this is all about, so the tl;dr is that MCS is running on software called “WordPress” and until about 2 weeks ago I thought I had it’s licenses and requirements all figured out until the guy that runs wordpress.com and wordpress.org and tumblr decided that it really wasn’t open source and he controlled it all and now it’s asking his direct competitors to pay him 8% of their revenue or he’ll cut them off from the repositories where all the plugin and security updates are distributed from. It was a shitty move on his part and is going to lead to some terrible outcomes down the road.
