“Hero Mode” Review
Tags:Movie Posters, Movie Reviews, Movies
This is a family values, family friendly wish fulfillment story with a main lead still in highschool that
1 – looks exactly like Ryan Reynolds and that’s all I thought about the entire movie
2 – was put in charge of design and development of an entire company’s output
3 – was the son of the owner
4 – was the functional manager of a team of people 2 or 3 times his age, ability, experience, and maturity.
None of that matter though because this is a movie with a moral and it does the moral of the story extremely well and if you’re a know it all kid in high school with delusions of grandeur, this story is going to hit pretty hard for you, especially if you have a tenuous relationship with the memory of a dead parent and think you don’t need to deal with the fall out of them leaving you at such a young age. I’m not saying this story is for me, but if I had seen it 20 years ago I would have assumed it was made just for me and maybe I would have taken it’s story to heart. As a 40 something dude now though, all I can think of is how crazy it was that his mom just threw her hands up at the situation and effectively gave control of their million dollar brand to her arrogant know it all kid. Not just that she did that, but that it actually worked out in everyone’s favor!
“The Wheel of Time Season Two” Review
Tags:Television, Television Posters, Television Reviews, The Wheel Of Time
The first season was good enough to get me to watch the second and the second is just good enough to get me to watch the third, which feels like a backhanded compliment, but I honestly found the show has way too many stories going on in just 8 episodes, it felt like each story really only got about an hour’s worth of time. They all made their way to a final episode that sorta combined them all effectively, but I think if they had combined a couple it would have gone much smoother.
That being said, I was certainly impressed with the special effects, I adore the magic that they’re using in this franchise, and there was some really cool magic bondage that happened towards the end of the season that felt unique.

“Beacon 23” Review
Tags:Television, Television Posters, Television Reviews
I had no clue that MGM had their own streaming service and I don’t think I knew that Lena Headey was doing a hard science fiction series until about a week before it started. It’s a well done short season with one or two sets, but with multiple groups of actors, I don’t think there was a single episode where it was the same people on the Beacon at the same time for the entire episode, always with new comers, late leavers and time time jumps back to when important things were happening decades earlier. It’s good and was just approved for a second season, so we have that to look forward to some day.

“I Love Trouble” Review
Tags:Movie Posters, Movie Reviews, Movies, Sexy
Starring Franchot Tone as a slick talking private eye on a seemingly small time case that turns into something much larger and a series of some of Hollywood’s most beautiful women from the time: Janis Carter, Janet Blair, Adele Jergens, and gem of my eye, Glenda Farrell as the PI’s girl Friday. She has much more of a role this time around, much to my delight, but she’s not the star, so the majority of the screen time is Mr Tone’s. He does very well with it though and I’m happy to say this is a fantastic mystery story that starts off fast at a 1948 Bank of America and ends with bodies in the ocean and women lining up for one final kiss. It’s often difficult to go back to the source for modern tropes, and there’s none used more than a murder mystery, but “I Love Trouble” has enough unique and captivating elements to it that even though the movie just celebrated it’s 75th anniversary it’s still as fresh as the day it originally hit the silver screen.
