the reason wartime industries invent all these cool new things IS BECAUSE THERE IS MONEY IN THE INDUSTRY TO DO SO. Killing people doesn't magically get the creative juices flowing, money does. If governments didn't spend so much money in war r&d, and instead invested it in other fields of research, we'd still get technological advances. @elzarcothepale, if thats actually true, thats pretty fucked up..

No doubt we still have barriers to overcome, just sick of hearing people call my country racist coz of high-publicity events and bogans- i guess i consider it calling me racist as well. ok sure you just keep basing your opinion on text msgs and football matches- i'm sure its a valid and accurate census of Australians. Btw no modern civil rights movement? Hmmm maybe you should check up on the subject before you say things like that, coz there has been. Anyway whatever- you disagree, i disagree, we're not going to change each other's mindset. Just keep in mind that you can never know all the facts, even if you were there, and maybe i'll do just the same.

wow.........did i say that Australia is problem free? Way to stereotype, too..... coz all i do is sit at home, drink beer and eat meat pies while beating my wife. Hey- slavery was also once part of your culture- maybe we should embrace that as well and catch ourselves a strong'un. Now YOU listen, just because you saw a 2 min. clip of these 'race wars' on the news does NOT mean that you know enough about it to judge MY country on it (lol can you even point out Cronulla on a map?)- it was a boiling point that was a long time coming- these people disrespected women on the beach wearing bikinis and beat the crap out of a lifeguard- and the other group was a bunch of disgruntled, drunken fools that let themselves be manipulated by a few racist tools. People in Australia don't have a problem with muslims OR Lebanese Australians, no matter what the media try to say- however there is a horrible sub-culture in a lot of Lebanese youth (mostly men) that think it's ok to treat women like meat, which is fuelling another terrible sub-culture in 'white' australian men that all 'wogs' are bad. All i was saying by that was that i agreed with some of the comments, so how about YOU stop being intolerant.
