I have always meant to go there, but have never gotten around to it. Did make it to the Nuclear Museum last weekend, though. I should post some pics.

  • Comment on Ronald Reagan (2010-04-11 08:15:13)
"He was the triumph of image over truth, paving the way for even more vapid spokesmodels like George W. Bush. He was, as everyone agrees, exactly what he appeared to be—nothing. He made me ashamed to be an American. If there was any justice in this world his Presidential Library would contain nothing but boys' adventure books and bad cowboy movies, and the only things named after him would be shopping malls and Potter's Fields. Let the earth where he is buried be seeded with salt." --Tim Krieder (http://www.thepaincomics.com/weekly040609a.htm)

It seems like you could build a similar system for a lot less money.

Is that Kirtland AFB in the background?
  • Comment on model of retarder bomb (2010-01-22 23:26:43)
Retarded bombs are usually used during low altitude drops or drops where the aircraft itself could be in danger from the bomb's blast. The parachute retards the fall so the aircraft can reach a safer distance.

The smart bomb's less intelligent, football playing brother.
  • Comment on Fail Simulators (2009-12-29 21:28:38)
Yay! Both of them are on usenet. Not that I'd download them or anything, since that would be illegal and immoral. Just sayin'.

My son (who is 3) would love these.
  • Comment on Too Many Monitors? (2009-12-24 08:23:24)
I always wondered what it would look like to run that many.
  • Comment on Too Many Monitors? (2009-12-24 08:21:47)
Windows used to support something like 30 monitors. I may have that number off a bit, but it was some ginormous amount of displays.

Has anyone ever found the OSI model useful? Maybe it's because I'm in development now, but I've never actually found myself thinking, damn, it must be a Data Link layer problem.
