Agreed with Phyreblade, its the sort of aircraft that when just in cruise or doing basic aerobatics is difficult to control, let alone doing combat maneuvers. Thats that the Fly-by Wire system is all about, making the controls more "Natural" or as expected by the pilot. Fighters like this will probably become more common place, especially as computer technology comes along and our understanding of composites!

....Stolid, shutta your face!! And yes i have seen one without even one external fuel tank...ITS RIGHT ABOVE THIS POST!!! BWAHAHAHAHA. Idiot. Its a good fighter for its time, unfortunately Block 3 will be the last real upgrade for it i suspect as everyone moves onto either the F-22 or F-35.

Yeah, Excelsior, give a plane any stretch of road and chances are that they can land it (Yes, i'm a pilot...in training :P) the trick is making sure its clear, its wide enough (ie, no phone poles to rip wings off!!) and long enough :P. Basically they aren't 'designed to land on roads', no one really thinks about that, they are just designed to land on a stretch of flat area!! a landing strip is just a handy clear spot designated for planes, thats all :)

Well, it affects it cause your talking about one of the most technological planes around. Its designed to take advantage of new network technology being incorporated into all facets of the armed forces. If your computer reckons its friday but the one sending you information reckons its saturday there are all sorts of conflicts that arise from this sort of error. It probably won't shut down the engines or put you at great risk but it certainly won't allow the aircraft to operate at 100% efficiency!! But then again, i personally reckon this is one of the most superb aircraft out there, probably why America won't release it to anyone :P

Heh, funny story, i THINK it was trump, but a snooty matre de wouldn't bothere seating him for some reason (It was possible to do so, they just didn't go to the effort) so he went to the place down the road, they made sure he got a seat and all and he gave them a check for like 10G (might be this one, not entirely sure) and told the waiter to go to the first restaurant and show them just to rub it in :D friggin legend!!!
