i had a german sheppard and chow mix, beautiful dog. i had him since i was three, the dog was already two years old and belonged to a retired sheriff. one summer, i think i was 11 or 12, i went to california for two months to see my family. i went with just my sister and i. when i arrived at the airport i called my parents to tell them we landed ok, then didn't pick up. they called later that night, mind you my two month vacation just started, to tell me that 'bear', my dog, won't be there when i got back. he was going blind in one eye, heart murmur and worms... the last thing i remember is waving 'bye' to my house and family with him behind the gate and his face said to me, "i'll see you when you get back", he had so much fight left in him. this was over 8 years ago. no pets since then either...
