Agreed on the all or nothing, but I think it was the team opposing the cheer leaders' getting their asses kicked. Idk. The way some philosophers talk, especially Nietzsche, there must have been a time when the only way to overcome morality that existed solely due to custom was to be seen openly opposing it and happy doing so -- I think that's where all this 'pride' comes from. Where that got mixed up with flagrantly just being uncivilized for the sake of rebellion to the degree that your point is invalidated, that I don't know either.
