Also yeah, funny cars = the body lifts up like how a hood normally would on a regular car.

Since nobody has said it yet, I'm pretty sure that's a Super Stock or Super Street class dragster. The 9.90 on the windshield is his dial in time, in bracket racing you try to get as close to that time as possible without going faster to win. Also the stickers add horsepower plus maybe some contingency cash.
