So easy to go to the extreme other side of this argument rather than contribute with a reasonable and realistic solution. That's some real intelligence you're exhibiting there buddy. Anyways, I live in California. We have a state mandate that we all voted on and passed that requires the majority of the state's income to go to education, but yet we still have a budget problem. With tenure, you have to basically commit a felony to get fired. Teachers (and other public sector workers) still get a pension. They also get health insurance (not a bare bones plan, but a GOOD one, for life). Now, on the other hand, I work at a private sector company that has seen us lay off over 60% of our staff and we're basically a skeleton crew now. Who is left has taken a pay cut, we've canceled our 401(k) and forget about raises. We're scratching our way back to profitability, but it's a tough road ahead, but if anyone's going to do it, it's us since we survived the layoffs for a reason, because we're the best group to do so. Talk about inequality...but hey, that's life. If I got laid off I'd find another job because I don't have collective bargaining rights because guess what, I'm not union (just like the 93% of the working class).

Yeah, throw your vote away. That way when Congress or POTUS passes a bill that you don't like or adopts a policy you're against, you can say you supported the guy who was against gingivitis or the comedian that gets paid to generate ratings to sell ads for the corporations you claim to be against (and who also happens to be a part of that 1% you claim to loathe, but hey, he makes you laugh and says what you want to hear so it makes it ok, right?). Doesn't matter in the end though, they still get a big chunk of your paycheck, get to dictate what liberties you enjoy and will always control a big part of your life you've conceded to them, but hey, you voted for the guy on TV or the dude with a fucking boot on his head. Enjoy the shitty existence you've allowed to become even worse because you refuse to take it seriously because you feel being funny is much more of a statement than actually trying to do something about it.

If you watched the video and came to this conclusion then I respect your opinion. Personally, I would've resorted to more aggressive means to remove them (some have commented they would've just removed them one by one) since they were in essence holding the police officers against their will (yeah, they have guns, blah blah, I get that). If you didn't watch the video and believe everything you see on the news then you're more than welcome to come by my house and sit in front of my door to see what kind of means I will resort to to remove your hippy ass.

Nothing like outnumbering and blocking the police to completely surrounding them and denying them of the ability to leave with suspects they've arrested for breaking the law in order to provoke a response from them that they were informed was going to happen several times, individually, by the leading officer, in order to come up with footage that would be presented without proper context to convey an incorrect message that the protesters were pepper sprayed without warning and just cause. You say technology is dead in the water, but any nation that is dumb/backward to aggravate the United Nations/United States to the point where this is necessary would be so backwards that a carrier group parked outside of their coast (assuming they have a coast) would be subject to this type of attack. We think that everyone is right there with us generationally, but as the only nation really at war for the past 10 years (since 9/11), the United States really is the only one that is ahead of the game. Remember, European bullies called on the US to help out with Libya after they ran out of munitions. Fucking Libya....and we're talking about France, the UK and the rest. Feeling good about your decision to not follow NATO standards France? Well, that sounded like a good idea until you couldn't be resupplied by us, right? Fucking Libya...war ended when a rebel put a bullet in Ghadaffi's head, not by a bombed dropped by a multi-million dollar eurofighter. Good job Europe.

Not really...you can't be convicted of a felony, otherwise, as long as you can pay for the gun & DOJ background check, then yes. Oh, and for a handgun you need to pass a handgun safety test, but I think that might just be a stupid California law...the same one that limits you to only 1 handgun per month because if you bought more, you are going to kill people. Lucky me, I own a shotty & it's considered a long gun so I can buy as many as I want per month so as long as I pass my background check.
