I never played this but 'Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders', the SCUMM game that followed it, kept me amused and frustrated, never did finish. There is SCUMMVM for my Nokia N900 so perhaps I should revisit it.

Chris Foss is probably more well known in the English speaking world than the U.S. ;-) His art adorned the covers of many S.F. works in the UK and Aust/NZ in the '70's and '80's He also did the interior illustrations for Alex Comfort's "The Joy of Sex"

Actually this is Shot Baker (Came after shot Able) of Operation Crossroads, as has already been mentioned. The documentary 'Trinity and Beyond' has some pretty good footage of the whole thing.
