It's sad to read how hysterical people get about guns. AFAIK, the weapons depicted here are: Mossberg shotgun (probably a 500), Tek 9 , and a Colt AR-15, btw. If a kid is taught proper respect and handling of firearms, they are MUCH less likely to misuse them in the future. If you keep guns in the house, it only makes sense to educate your children about them. Including teaching them that they are a weapon of violence. Very dangerous, yes lethal, but an important tool when used correctly. I shot my first fully automatic weapon when I was 5 years old. I had already learned muzzle control, proper stance, trigger discipline, and foremost: DO NOT AIM AT SOMETHING YOU DO NOT WISH TO DESTROY. It was an Uzi, btw... I grew up to be a geek, a firearms instructor, and a moderately upstanding citizen. I've never killed anyone (not that I haven't desperately wanted to), despite having readily accessible firearms near me most of my life. Granted, my anecdotal experience cannot be taken as representative, or even common-place. The reason I bring it up is, again, to point out that familiarity with firearms is unlikely to be a causal factor in violence. Respect firearms as a dangerous tool. Fear individuals, for they are what cause firearms to become lethal weapons in the wrong (or right) hands.

It is pathetic how accurately this represents my life. Should I be depressed by that? Nah. But I do need a better desk and chair before my slump becomes permanent.

Not into obese territory, but still just icky. Step away from the groceries and stop by the gym... She'd be cute if she lost about 40-50 lbs.

Actually, I think this picture is on I-66, near Front Royal. The same sign is all over Virginia, and this is like the 4th photochop I've seen showing an Apache next to the sign. Funny thing is, I was on the beltway (I495) the other day and saw an Apache about 100 feet above the highway, just sort of hovering there. It startled me so badly I just about wrecked. Wish I had had time to take a picture. Seeing a rocket-toting gunship 100 feet off one of the busiest roads in the country... scary as hell.
