They'll still need 10 republican votes in the senate to get a lot of legislation through and they've got a Kyrsten Sinema and another guy who's name escapes me right now who'll block a lot of stuff. It's not as easy as all that.

I have a horrible feeling that the GOP will do nothing to take this as far as it should go in removing this uniquely dangerous individual and addressing the traitorous behaviour of his supporters. They will instead pay lip service to distancing themselves from the scenes from yesterday and then court both Trump and his henchmen come the next election. We will see Trump speaking at GOP rallies and meetings within 12 months, doing the same old shtick.

They reportedly arrested 60 yesterday and have pledged to arrest and prosecute the rest. Horned idiot, "Baked Alaska" and the moron who stole the envelope are all internet famous and well known on social, it should be no problem tracking them down. And many more have been at other protests, equally maskless. It will be interesting to see if any actually end up in prison. And am I right in thinking that, due to the location, this is automatically a felony?

That's to say nothing of the fact that by trying to convince Georgia's Secretary of State to "find more votes", Trump committed a federal crime. A crime for which the evidence is 100% insurmountable. And now he faces a resurgent Democrat party with control of all three branches of government and a whole line of career prosecutors begging for the case. By all rights, he should be in prison in Georgia at least, by this time next year.

It's not just what Trump did (which was mostly play golf, enrich himself and his family and act the chump for the cameras - a role he was born to play), It's what his puppet-presidency allowed to happen. While everyone was watching Trump, the GOP has stuffed the courts with unqualified, party-political hacks from the USSC all the way down.The damage is generational.
