We have 2 girls - they're a bit young for any sort of 'talk' but we're planning it already. Aside from the temptation to do an hour long Powerpoint just to embarrass the shit out of them, the main topic will be consent. Where me and my wife disagree is on the idea that simply "boys should be taught respect" and we shouldn't "teach our daughters to be scared". I agree with the sentiment but you only need one creepy guy to slip through the net and he can ruin a girl's life. Or as likely as not, several girls' lives. It's not worth the risk. And never, ever let people take pictures of you naked, nor share such pictures with anyone, unless you are 100% okay with the idea of every motherfucker on the planet having access to them forever.

You can't be granted a blanket pardon - it has to be for a specific crime. Of course, if he'd said "I trafficked and raped a 16 yr old, pls make sure I get away with it", then Trump could have done it. Stupid system.

I had a buddy whose cat video went viral a few years back (it's just a cat in the snow, nothing special) and it got picked up by a news agency. He made well over £10k for doing basically nothing. Then briefly thought he could make a career out of it so followed his cat around recording everything it did for a week. :D

Good article - pulls a lot of threads together. Where it fails is on its second promise - of explaining why it's a problem for the GOP. Because from over here, it sure looks like their anti-semitic, PEZ-dispensing ass-hattery has got them: a) a president with a good chance in a second run either by him or his dynasty, despite the fact that by any reasonable measure he was fucking useless and his progeny are horrific, b) the most radical right-leaning SCOTUS in a generation or two plus courts all the way down stuffed to the gills with rabid supporters, no matter how unqualified, c) a hamstrung Dem. Senate and House, d) a base so blind to their failings that despite half a million Americans dropping dead of COVID not only did just 40,000 votes separate Trump and Biden in the general but more than half of them think that a conspiracy theory involving their opponents setting up and running an international paedophile ring in order that they can drink the blood of terrified children to stay young has at lest some merit. I mean, did I fucking miss anything? Seems to me crawling into bed with anti-semites is a feature, not a bug. Where's their incentive to change their fucking behaviour now?
