Certainly looks like foam mastik'd to the ceiling. I think I'd wooden batten, fill voids with foam and plasterboard on 'top'. And, as you say, thicker underlay below whatever floor covering is above. More worrying is why they're bothering at all. If they're parking a car in a single garage, they're not using it as a workshop so what are they doing in there that needs soundproofing? If they're just sitting in there with the engine idling, they've got bigger problems...

We can perhaps at least console ourselves with the fact that these people are incompetent, chicken-shit and entirely unprepared for even the slightest resistance. The cops practically let them in the damn door after all. Of course, that's not to say they wouldn't do so again. Personally, I'd make like pro-sports and do everything behind closed doors for the next 6 months, at least.

Exactly, that's what I'm thinking - the guy threw it up and called it a day. For all his money, Trump probably never sat on toilet seat that didn't wobble until he moved in to the White House. It maybe why he's so reluctant to leave.

Ah, that makes sense - yes I see the string ball ends now. I thought it was through body but the strings well coming in through the holes behind the bridge. I don't fancy carrying an allen key around to tune the bastard. It's pretty though - I'll give it that. Though, as a sometimes player of a fretless 5 (I've got one right here, in fact) I still maintain it would be f'er to play. :D And another thing - the pots are in a stupid place.
