Me too. And having a digital device, now, to read the news is definitely superior to trying to occupy yourself by reading the ingredients list on the box for the 30th time. I feel the same way about the difference between reading the shampoo bottle and my phone when I'm taking a shit.

Here it is. Conclusive video proof that the protesters did not "break down the gates" to gain entry to the street. https://mobile.twitter.com/alexiszotos/status/1277607426934616065 Also, it would appear that the crowd wasn't even paying attention to the property until the guy came outside yelling and swinging his gun at people.

Not a crossbow. Not even a compound bow. Just a simple bow. Still a weapon though.

The gate is part of a "private" street, which is not personally owned by them. So your statement is false. " A private road can be used by the general public and is open to all who wish to use it" https://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Private+Roads

The crowd was passing by, on the street, in front of their house on the way to protest at the Mayor's residence down the street. The crowd didn't care about them and no other property was vandalized. There is even question as to when exactly the gate was damaged. I have yet to see any images that show it conclusively one way or the other. In the state of Missouri, it is a felony to point/brandish a firearm at someone that is not threatening you. I don't know if you've watched any of the videos, but no one was threatening this couple. The majority of the crowd is just passing by and you even hear protest leaders instructing people to move on.

  • Comment on SOYLENT GREEN (2020-06-23 16:39:33)
True Story. I went to a bookstore one time, looking for a copy of this book. It wasn't on the shelf, so I went up to the help desk. I says to the lady "I'm looking for Soylent Green". She says "What's Soylent Green?". I'm momentarily surprised that this lady isn't familiar with the classic, but, barely missing a beat, I say "IT'S MADE OF PEOPLE!". She just stares at me, a little annoyed and confused like, while I'm standing there doing my best to not bust a gut at my own great joke. Once I composed myself, I went on to explain the joke to her in a way she totally didn't care about. Which made it even funnier to me. p.s. I later learned that the title of the book "Soylent Green" is adapted from is actually called "Make Room! Make Room!".
