Where do you get the 90% figure? I just returned from the Czech Republic where 59% of the country are listed as non-religious or atheist. In the US, that figure is roughly 16%. China is a much tougher one to measure since religion violates the doctrine of the state. Either way, I call bullshit on your figures. I'm not religious. To say I don't believe in god(s) is the same as saying I don't believe in unicorns or astrology. Why does the first draw a reaction but the latter two examples do not?

The reason the military is above is listed on the poster - "We shoot at you" The military in the Gilded Age were used widely to protect private property - i.e. to shoot striking workers.

you need to stop eating the lead paint chips. The Clinton "surplus" was projected, not actual. It was based more than anything else on the dot com boom and the real estate bubble. It wasn't real. The economy collapsed in early 2001 when Tyco, WorldCom and Enron all stole BILLIONS, which wiped out MILLIONS of people's retirement savings. Add to that a war that came with a tax cut and the bleeding of the treasury to coffers of incompetent but connected military contractors, and you're on the right track. As far as the Republican Congress giving that dick Clinton anything, I guess you don't remember how hotly they criticized him for closing military bases to get that balanced budget.

Gor - Real economists (and not demagogues) have credited that expanded deficit spending to heading off a complete crash like the early 1930s. I do care that the deficit has exploded, and I cared when we were sending troops overseas and giving rich people a tax cut. We need a massive tax increase, but we need economic recovery first.

The joker wasn't an anarchist. He was a sociopath and a nihilist. Anarchism is a real political philosophy that comes in many varieties - check out Emma Goldman, Kropotkin, Johann Most, Proudhon, Albert Parsons, August Spies ... The so-called socialist countries mentioned are mixed market, just like we are. The US has lots of socialized programs, but unfortunately they underwrite corporate losses while protecting private profits. When the American people want to put people first, they're demagogued.
