Well I use it every time I play guitar, or modify a recipe, or need to work out which size packet of coffee is better value in the supermarket this week, or work out how much longer I can put off filling the car petrol tank. Mostly, I use it without even thinking about it; but then that's how you know you've learnt something well enough to assimilate it into your thinking.

Yes, that whole part of the coast is pretty amazing. Drive along the Great Ocean Road (start at Point Lonsdale and travel to Warrnambool along the coast -- it's only about 5 or 6 hours driving, but take a few days over it) to see all this, but make sure you deviate towards the Cape Otway lighthouse to see more koalas in one place than anywhere else I've seen. And once you're at the Warrnambool end, go on and see Mt. Gambier.
