I think that's a very intelligent compromise, Tiki. - Comment on Really Popular Blacks (2009-04-01 11:21:25)
@rebelyell2006: Ohhhh -- sorry! I didn't realize that he would have gotten his REAL African American heritage during the four years he spent in Indonesia. I also thought Hawaii was part of the United States. My bad! - Comment on Really Popular Blacks (2009-04-01 11:04:16)
I'm not sure how Obama could miss out on "the African American cultural experience". He grew up in America. He has dark skin. His Dad is *actually* from Africa, so he has a more literal claim on the "African American" category than most blacks I know. As if that even matters. and don't even get me started on the racist implications of basically saying "He's not black, he's just a regular dude." - Comment on Really Popular Blacks (2009-04-01 11:00:06)

Did I miss the official memo about how racially pure you must be to be considered "real" black? Please let me know what % black is considered "real African-American". It's very important to know whether Obama is "too black" or he's a halfbreed mutt. - Comment on Theme Day is BPR - PBR - RPB - PRB - BRP (2009-04-01 10:39:47)
Great theme day today, Tiki. I really do prefer these ones where people can be creative. And it's much more interesting to scroll though than 100 pics of the same girl. :-) - Comment on Scale for intellegent conversation (2009-03-28 10:52:03)
graphic is generally true, albeit with numerous exceptions. But beware the "golden mean" or "Middle Ground" fallacy: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/middle-ground.html - Comment on Ceci nest pas une pipe (2009-03-26 13:02:37)

Paul Laffoley is a genius. I wish the scan quality were a bit higher. - Comment on The War on Some Drugs vs Phelps (2009-02-10 07:55:46)
@nyokki: interesting article, but misleading title. It makes you think there's actually a survey of Kelogg Customer opinions on the matter. - Comment on Avril Lavigne is a boy beater (2009-02-02 11:17:22)
@tiki god: When there's like 300 pictures of the same chick, from the same shoot, from slightly different angles, I generally just skip it rather than paging through. I prefer the theme days when the content is varied - like when you had people post their pets, or theme days where people could can be creative in what they submit. I like scrolling through those, just not pages of pics of the same person over and over again - no matter how hot she is. - Comment on Avril Lavigne is a boy beater (2009-02-01 10:26:32)
repost my one complaint about theme day is that it makes it impossible to scroll back to see what I missed on Jan 30th-31st. avril's cute though. it's too bad she's about as punk rock as strawberry shortcake. - Comment on Batman is dead (2009-01-31 10:07:25)
Grant Morrison, that wonderful Discordian, killed the goddamn batman?!
