Not from the U.S. The U.S. is one of the countries that still apply taxes at the register, and the 14.50 total makes me think it was a tax built into the price. Let's see... ah, Cineplex is a Canadian chain. Case closed. But, feel free to go ahead and continue to rage about American taxes like trained monkeys. - Comment on God (2010-06-29 14:42:23)
I never think about dying, and I'm an atheist. In fact, the only time I really think about religion is when someone is telling me what I can't do because of their invisible sky people. Otherwise, live and let die. - Comment on God (2010-06-29 12:10:31)
It's not elitism. Not really. You know how you figured out Santa wasn't real when you were 6 or 7, but you still had kids in school that believed in Santa all the way up to 9 or sometimes 10? You'd talk to them in class, and you'd explain how there really isn't anyone at the North Pole, et cetera, and you wonder how the fuck that kid hasn't figured it out yet? It's that. If you want to call that elitism, go for it. I obviously can't change your mind. After all, humans are going to be arguing over whether or not some human loving deity exists until we finally contact life on other planets, and they give us that same "You still believe in Santa Clause?" look. - Comment on Gaza (2010-06-29 09:39:05)

When the U.S. fans complain about lack of instant reply on plays: "Haha, suck it up. It's part of the game. Welcome to football." When something happens to England: "OMGWTF! RAAAAAAAGE! WE NEED INSTANT REPLAY!" I loved that game, as much as a fan of Germany and as someone who wanted the English fans to shut the holy fuck up. - Comment on Left brain or right? (2010-06-28 06:41:42)

Actually, a majority of cases where someone "died from cannabis," they had other intoxicants in the their body, usually alcohol. But, whatever... that's actually pothead propaganda. You're so on to us. I don't know how you, of all people, figured it out, but congratulations. Truth is, nearly 50 people die a day from smoking pot in the U.S. (Which is still less than the people who die per day from alcohol, but that's our little secret). - Comment on thomas jefferson - question with boldness even the existence of a god (2010-06-26 04:43:30)
There's the full quote. I feel that's more relevant than just the opening sentence. - Comment on a day in the life of a programmer v1.0 (2010-06-23 16:48:41)

Ah, that would explain why the corp is still listed as a British company, has a British CEO, and whose stocks are over 60% owned by British citizens. Easy mistake. I'll go correct everyone now. - Comment on the difference between an MRAP and a Humvee (2010-06-18 01:58:40)
You know, an offshore oil rig has never exploded before, so obviously there's no reason to have safety measures in place. Terrorists have never tried to hijack planes and use them as flying bombs. No need for airport security. ...Seriously, though, what is with people not seeing the value of things until there is a major screw up? Just because something hasn't happened, doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared for it. - Comment on new gay stereotype (2010-06-18 01:50:40)
It's not even that prevalent right now. During the Bush years, we had 5 hardcore anti-gay activists get caught in under 3 years. - Comment on weird family - face sitting (2010-06-14 18:06:23)
Gah! That is seriously creepy
