It was mostly an effort by Andrew Mellon, Randolph Hearst, and the DuPoint family. Hemp just became fairly easy to produce, and they didn't want competition. Hearst had extensive timber holdings, and the DuPoints had recently invented nylon. Of course, that's just for hemp, which won't get you high. The rest was just the Federal Bureau of Narcotics creating a reason to exist. Kind of like how the Department of Homeland Security's only purpose seems to be scaring people. (Aaaand they probably just opened on me... or added to my already existing one).

Windows 95 was one of the good ones. The probably just changed it because it didn't fit with the pattern they wanted. Kind of like a lot of journalism. Create a story, then arrange the facts to fit with the story you created.

Interesting idea & experiment, but waaaaay too much text for M[c]R. I expected the story to end with him dying and someone saying, "I meant to say I will love you FIVE-ever, which means I love you more than FOUR-ever." Next time cut to the chase then link the article.

I know. How stupid of countries like Japan and Germany agreeing to a reduced or near non-existent standing armies so they can pump more of their taxes into their economy and infrastructure. I mean, they're only... the 3rd and 4th largest economies in the world, despite being a mere fraction of the size of the U.S. or China. Oh, and they can let us Americans do all the dirty work and pay the bill. They're so stupid.
