I think the point is not to impress the world that Jesus was born of a virgin, as much as the irony, or the counterintuitive nature of the gospel, that the savior of the world was born in the eyes of the world an illegitimate child, raised by peasant parents, from a Podunk town (“can anything good come out of Nazareth), with a nothing job…tekton in Greek doesn’t mean carpenter, it is more a handyman, an unskilled laborer.
